What a lovely place in a beautiful setting!

How was the contact with the host?
Louis was abroad and yet there was a very good, cordial contact. He sent his super sweet grandma to catch me. Top woman

Tips for new guests?
Enjoy the beautiful view. You can also eat or drink something just 150 meters away in a very cozy restaurant.

If you want to look for peace, this is the ideal place. We really enjoyed it. It is really back to basic, but that's what we wanted. You have a nice view all around. No sound of cars. You are 3 km from the shops and 1.5 km from the center which is easy to do on foot. You can walk through the meadows to the track. There is no path there but gates through which you can ( that is allowed ) leave behind the building through the meadow . You can do very long walks in Aubel through meadows and pastures with cows, 14 km further is a beautiful tunnel that you really must have seen. It was a great weekend for us. Thank you to the host for opening this place up for camping. We will definitely come back again.

How was the contact with the host?
Contact with the host went very smoothly. Louis is a very kind man. The grandmother was also friendly.

Tips for new guests?
Self provision

Charging station

You are back to basics so you have to see that you can help yourself. This was not a problem for us.

Great place, the feeling of being away from it all and in nature, yet close to the village with a few good bakeries and the possibility to do your shopping.

Louis was not there himself, but contact with him and his family was very easy and pleasant!

I stayed there twice, once on the way to my destination and once on the way back. I had the entire garden (which is very big) to myself so it was quite relaxing to camp here!

I did not meet the owner but did meet his grandmother who was very nice to me :) I got to practice my French and German a little bit.

Really enjoyed this place, would definitely come here again!

Absolutely perfect. We arrived late after our crossing from the UK was delayed, but we were met by Louis’ mum who made us very welcome  we walked to the local restaurant and had a fabulous meal with a great atmosphere. So surprising as the campspace is in the middle of nowhere! It was quiet and peaceful - just what we wanted. Thank you Louis we felt privileged to be able to stay in your garden. We had the added bonus of listening to, and watching a beautiful pair of buzzards.

How was the contact with the host?
Excellent. He kept us informed and was relaxed when we were delayed.

Tips for new guests?
You need your own water and facilities, but if you’re looking for a tranquil spot with no one around, in a field, near a restaurant, this is absolute perfect.

Very nice, quiet place for us alone, without facilities, but we had them ourselves on board the camper. Satellite coverage, stargazing, and also 2 hot air balloons. Beautiful view over the rolling fields. By bike 1.5 km to Aubel, a lovely town with good facilities and 2 top pastry chefs. We would love to come back.

How was the contact with the host?
We were warmly welcomed by grandfather who came by car and received a tip for a good restaurant nearby.

Tips for new guests?
If you like peace and quiet, definitely go there.

The farm is dilapidated but the place is great! There is plenty of space and the environment is very pleasant. There is access to running water and electricity, however the toilets were clogged. Overall it's a pretty quiet and relaxing place.

How was the contact with the host?
We had a very good contact

Tips for new guests?
You have to expect to do almost wild camping and don't be afraid to wash yourself outside or defecate in nature...

The view was beautiful and the host's parents were friendly, but otherwise it did not live up to expectations.

Host's father didn't arrive until an hour after my arrival. Until then I had no water and electricity. He opened the door to the dilapidated farmhouse so that I could draw water from the basement. This water was orange. After letting it run for a while it got a little brighter. The door of the farm closed again after 1.5 hours and I was without water and electricity for the rest of the evening, night and morning.

Another thing that is beyond the host's control: the neighbors are renovating and have a radio on until 6:00 PM and in the morning from 8:30 AM. So the peace and quiet was also disappointing.

I found my visit quite stressful considering that I had counted on water and electricity (as stated in the advertisement) but had limited access to these.

How was the contact with the host?
After several messages and calls, the host's father finally came to open the door an hour after my arrival.

Tips for new guests?
Make sure you are self-sufficient, for example with a camper. Otherwise this is not for you.

Tell us about your experience
The farm is uninhabited, badly dilapidated and will be demolished, according to the host.
The grassland around the farm had just been fertilized so you couldn't really walk there. There remains an unfertilized lawn to pitch your tent.

Outside we made a campfire in a hole in the ground. We were able to sit on clean white patio furniture with table.

Because of the storm we rolled out the sleeping mats in the kitchen of the farm. We slept under a sky of black mold and cobwebs.

How was the contact with the host?
Kindly received.
Since a thunderstorm with a lot of precipitation was predicted, we were allowed to take shelter in the farm.
We were allowed to use the working and reasonably clean toilet, running water and electricity.

Tips for new guests?
If you like urbex and adventure, or you really have no other choice, go here.
