About this campspace #s001887

Dear traveler,
We have a meadow with alpacas, sheep, chickens and peacocks. Our campsite is about 1 km from the center of Haacht with shops, restaurants, bars, ATMs, etc. We also make our meadow available to people attending the Rock Werchter music festival (July) as it is about 5 km away. The Wesperlaar Swing blues festival (August) is also nearby (3 km). There is a bus station in front of our house and the train station is 3 km away (Leuven = 10 minutes by train). What to Expect:
- Free alpaca plush toys :)
- Picnic table and benches
-Fire pit with BBQ grill
- A small playground, wiglo, trampoline and cable car
-WC, sink and fridge

We (and our animal farm) hope to welcome you!

Our experience with Camping Alpaca was great.
Super friendly people!
Everything we needed was there.
And how wonderful the animals are.
We will definitely go back!

It was a very nice stay at Michiel's alpaca campsite. We were warmly welcomed. It was our first camping experience with our newly bought caravan. Everything was there (plumbing, electricity, fire place) what we needed. The alpacas are of course the eye-catchers. Nice walk in the area: Haachtsbroek, anti-tank ditch and the arboretum of Wespelaar. We will be back.

We cannot compare this place with other places yet but we would still like to give this place 4 stars.

This Alpaca campsite is highly recommended. During the day you literally camp among the alpacas, at night they are put inside to protect the chickens from foxes and martens if I understand that correctly. In the morning we were allowed to release them ourselves in our meadow. There are 2 picnic tables with benches and a large party tent over one of the tables where you can sit dry. There is also a very cozy campfire place with bean stool stools around it. Super cozy and warm in the evening. My friends who were there had to leave earlier, but I stayed behind for a few hours and I really had a good time with the alpacas. I have discovered a new hobby of alpacas photographers. Yes, even on your own I think it's a must and super cozy between the alpacas. Very friendly people too. A neat toilet is also provided. Number of stars? 10 out of 5 Really great!

We thought it was a great experience and Michiel was also very friendly! We had a toilet and sink that could be used day and night. The location was beautiful and very quiet, ideal for a weekend break! :) We had very bad weather, but because of the large party tent we were still dry on the site. The alpacas are super sweet too. We will definitely come back, only this time in the summer!

Michiel and his wife were very hospitable, which made the stay even more enjoyable. When we asked Michiel if we could buy carrots for the alpacas, he gave us a whole bucket of food that we could give. The alpacas literally ate from your hand. It was a super fun experience and despite the bad weather, it was something to remember. I can recommend it to everyone to spend a night at the campsite

Camping Alpaca is a great place for an overnight adventure. The host family were very friendly and helpful - there is a fridge with cold drinks to buy, and a toilet and sinks in their garage extension. The camping field is behind the family home off the main road into Haacht. It is easy walking distance to a supermarket and the town centre. We were extremely fortunate to see a baby alpaca being born in the morning, which made it a very memorable trip. The alpacas are very tame and amusing to watch. We will try and return one day.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay with Michiel. He was a wonderful host. Very clear communication beforehand. We had the campsite just for us two. We had a campfire and the alpacas just for us. It was a very romantic stay! If there were other campers, the experience would be completely different.

Our stay at the Alpacas was really fantastic. Michiel was a very nice man. The contact was nice and clear. I would definitely recommend this Campspace to others. Michiel responds quickly to messages. His garden is large and you have a lot of freedom and privacy. We will definitely come back!

we enjoyed our camping trip. I went camping with my five-year-old sons for the first time and Michiel's campsite was perfect. We could set up our tent where we wanted, help feed the Alpacas, walk with the Alpacas and my children could play with the children of Michiel. We enjoyed it. The description on Campspace was correct and the photos realistic. I'm a fan and will definitely use your site again.

We had a great time at the 'alpaca camping', We were right between the animals (alpacas, sheep, chickens, and peacocks!). We had a great view and a great time. Michiel took real good care of us and he and Stephanie are really nice people. The shower was also really nice and we had a fun time watching the animals and visiting Leuven. I would recommend this spot to everyone who likes animals

Camping between Alpacas? Then you have to be with Michel! He has Alpacas in his back yard that will keep you company while camping! And of course not to forget the Rock Werchter terrain is not far away! Camper? Tent? No problem!

My friend and I had the pleasure to stay with Michiel, Stephanie and the children for two nights. They have lots of space in their garden. You sleep next to the sheep and Alpacas but they can walk free during the day, which is kind of exciting when you are used to city life! Michiel is very responsive on the website campspace. There was good communication between us before our little trip. When we arrived Michiel and Stephanie were very welcoming with their kindness. They respect your privacy but are also up for a chat or a drink when offered ;-). The kids are also very sweet! I really recommend this campspace if you're looking for a place with nature and quietness close to friendly people/stores/cities/... We enjoyed our stay here and we would book again in the future, if possible.

We are very satisfied with our experience! We had the whole place of camping to ourselves, and the host does not take more than 1 guest, which is a great comfort! The host was very kind ready to explain everything and help us at any time. The alpacas were a wonderful experience as well, very peaceful! The bathroom was crystal clear. We definitely recommend this camp for everyone and families especially!

During a bikepacking trip with my son, we were received very friendly by the owners. We got acquainted with the beautiful spacious camping pitch and had the luxury of using a covered picnic table with a view of the animals. This camping pitch is ideal for camping with children. An absolute must where we would like to return on a next bike ride!!

The Alpaca camping of Michiel and his wife was fantastic! On the campsite you have the opportunity to release alpacas, sheep and other animals, so that they can come sit comfortably with you. Michiel was very helpful and made our stay very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Camping between the alpacas is a must for everyone!! A friendly family welcomes you and they are happy to help if you’ve forgotten something  They are always available if you want to ask something, but also give you complete freedom, so that really is your own meadow! We were lucky that there were 2 lambs and 2 young alpacas. There are even more things than they mention: a covered part on the picnic table (very handy against rain and bright sun!). You choose when the animals can come on your pasture, a warm toilet indoors, the friendly help and nice children of the house who love to entertain your children. Nearby you have a beautiful nature walk and an impressive arboretum. Shops can also be easily reached on foot. This was a very successful camping experience, we will definitely see them again!
