With the vision of shaping the camping of the future together with hosts and guests, Jobst von Paepcke founded the German booking platform Pop-Up Camps in summer 2020. Like Camspace, Pop-Up Camps is convinced that it is five to twelve when it comes to the climate crisis. Tourist offers with short distances and little additional land consumption are exactly what is needed at this time.
With more than 400 camps all over Germany, the Hamburg-based start-up has become one of the leading booking platforms for camping stays with private individuals, on farms and in other unique and natural locations in less than two years.
As we are not only united by our common values such as sustainability and as well as the love for nature, but we also address the same target group among hosts as well as guests, we are now joining forces at the beginning of 2022. Pop-Up Camps will become part of Campspace and together we are committed to providing the new generation of travellers with a sustainable alternative to carbon intensive travel.
We can only tackle the climate crisis if we leave old ideas behind and are open to innovation when it comes to reducing the carbon emissions associated with tourism. Since the inception of Pop-Up Camps, the focus has been on local, sustainable tourism and I am delighted that we have found like-minded people within the Campspace team who share our mission.

Slowing down together with your loved ones in nature can offer at least as many beautiful memories as a city trip by plane - and with minimal environmental impact. So why travel far away when unique outdoor stays can be found right at our doorstep?
