Your oasis between Matera and Gravina in the Murgia National Park

About this campspace

We have enough land so you can roam freely and park in your favorite spot. Pine trees and an orchard provide shade in Summer. On the back of our property a short hike will get you to rugged hills and a forest with foxes, wild boars, hares, birds and the occasional wolf.
Nearby two towns with distinctive features: Altamura is more hectic with a wide choice of dining and drinking venues, Gravina has the rugged charm of a canyon town with its cinematic views of the ancient roman bridge ( a 007 movie action scene was shot there). Both places are a mere 10 minute drive from our home.
Matera is also super close: 25 minutes and you're in a top Unesco spot.
The Murgia Hills are a perfect place for mountain biking and hiking in general. Summers are hot and dry, and the land appears like a northern African site, while Winters and Spring everything is green like the foggy Scottish Highlands.

Nature lovers, hikers, families, couples, mountain bikers, adventures,

I am a traveler who loves great outdoors and charming cities alike.
I've lived in Asia for 14 years and traveled to many countries.
For me the most precious thing is time. It's scarce and finite. And we should make the most of it!
Welcome to my place.

Tips

  • Dine out in Altamura or Gravina for affordable yet tasty local delicacies.

  • Get on the top of the hills behind our campsite for splendid Sunsets and Sunrises.

  • A few watering holes are in Altamura and Gravina. Try Tanamatta in Altamura for cocktails.

  • In Altamura try Pein Assutt (on the cheap side) or I Tre Archi (more pricey but cozier)
