Tent
Residential woods in which I live in my tiny house.
Nudity is allowed anywhere that is not in plain sight of the neighbors. Pets are welcome but they must be kept away from the roads and the neighbors (there is no front/rear fence).
A lot of birds sing during the day, there are some squirrels living here as well, a few frogs in some of the ponds, once in a while wild pigs will roam around, and I've met a hedgehog at night once. Please respect their space: no loudspeaker, no littering, and watch your step to avoid stepping on the saplings. (The forest is fragile and it gets a lot of footprints.)
I am not always home and my schedule changes often so I cannot guarantee that we will meet (Let me know if it's important to you.)
It's rather quiet (besides the birds' songs) but there is a train track in the back which runs about twice per hour during the day (less often during the weekend).
Don't forget to read the rules below; most importantly be respectful to the neighbors and leave no trace.

Fondry des Chiens is beautiful
There is a nearby market every day except Mondays (ask). Spar Mariembourg is the closest grocery store (6 minutes), they have some local products and they are attached to VracStore (bio).
Brasserie des Fagnes (local brewery and good restaurant)

We had a very nice time here. The forest is located on a park with some neighbors. It is nice and quiet. There's plenty of adventure to be had in the area.
How was the contact with the host?
Good contact, clear communication, no problems!
Tips for new guests?
Take a tent that's maximum for 2/3 people.
If you don't like a poo bucket you need to find some other public toilet :)

Thanks for the review :) I'm glad you had a good time here and I very much enjoyed hosting you too!
There is also the possibility to dig poop holes with a hand shovel. It's what other campers and I had to do in the past and while I personally prefer sitting on a poop bucket, it's not everyone's preference and I should have mentioned the possibility. Either way it's a pooping in the woods experience :)

Had a great time going back to basics. Our dogs loved it too. The only downside is the railway but it didn't bother us that much.

Benoit is a very friendly, hospitable host.
Tips for new guests?
If you're not that of a good sleeper, bring earbuds because on weekdays the first train passes at around 4h45.

How was the contact with the host?
We had a very pleasant time with Benoit. He asked us multiple times if we needed anything and was very helpful giving us hiking recommendations. He respected our privacy and personal agenda. Also had a nice relaxing time together at his amazing firebowl. Thanks you again Benoit! Keep your beautiful spot safe and sound.
Tips for new guests?
For the light sleepers: There is a railroad going through the forest. Maybe bring earplugs so you don't wake up from a train or two in the morning.

Noise: 🔇
Be respectful of the neighbors. No loudspeaker; if you can't enjoy the sound of birds (and let them live in peace) then this space is not for you. No loud noise after 10 p.m. (including wood cutting; plan ahead). Keep your pets on the property. A noise complaint from the neighbors will result in your eviction.
Fire:
Fire pits are not allowed anywhere and fires in general are only allowed close to the house by law. (In dry weather periods they may be forbidden altogether.) I have a fire bowl that is usually available upon request. You can move it up to 15 meters from the house. Make sure there is nothing flammable near the fire bowl (remove dead leaves, sticks, ...). Never leave the fire unattended; always keep a full watering can near the fire bowl and use it to extinguish the fire completely (!) when you leave. You can gather dead wood on the ground but it's may not be dry enough to start a fire and you must cut it so that it fits safely within the fire bowl. Do not burn your non-biodegradable garbage (it's hard to clean off the fire bowl and I can't compost the ashes). You are of course always welcome around the fire when I light it up.
Nudity:
Nudism is allowed as long as you are far enough in the back where the neighbors don't have to see you. ( I am usually nude whenever it is warm enough.)
Please send me an approximate time of arrival when you know it.
Most importantly: leave no trace! That means leave the space at least as nice as you found it.
- Minimize your impact on the local plants: avoid stepping on young trees and putting your tent on plant life, use hammocks with tree-friendly straps only (min. 2 cm wide; no ropes)
- Use only biodegradable toilet paper (ie plain, not scented). Likewise if using the outdoor shower use only biodegradable soap/shampoo.
- Don't leave any non-biodegradable garbage.
