About this campspace

If you, as a woman alone, with a friend, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, niece, neighbor or with your female life partner (but in all cases without children) want to spend the night peacefully in your own camping equipment with its own facilities, you can do so at our Private terrain. There is NO sanitary building (except for a solar outdoor shower) so you really have to rely on your own facilities such as a chemical toilet. Why do we choose the 'women' target group? Because as a female couple we also camp ourselves and we regularly notice that we attract attention. Sometimes other camping guests sit down and open a beer when we have to back up with our camper to reach the spot that has been assigned to us ....

Single or together? That doesn't matter to us. For example, we have single friends who sometimes want to be in the middle of no-where, but don't because it doesn't always feel safe. You can do that here! No one disturbs you here, except maybe our cats who are curious and like to come around.

On our private property, you have 1000 m2 of land at your disposal. There are meadows and fields all around, so you can see for miles.
Although the camping spot consists of 1000 m2, in principle we do not allow more than 1 camping equipment, unless in consultation. Only in this way can we guarantee the peace and privacy that this place offers. If you want to come to our WOCS with someone who also has their own camping equipment, that is certainly negotiable. It is always highly recommended to contact us in advance if our camping pitch is available, in order to avoid any disappointments.... The camping pitch itself has no special planting. This was used by the previous residents as a riding arena. The bottom is therefore drained and provided with felt and on top of that a special top layer, which has now become very hard. Horse lovers know this as an "Achterberg base" especially for jumping horses. This surface is so solid that trucks and tractors can drive over it without any problems. In winter we cover the bottom with plastic and spray water on it when it freezes. This creates an ice rink of 1000m2 within 1 night, which is fun for the village children! That would no longer be possible with grass or plantings, so we do not opt for that. But there is a lot of greenery all around us, to compensate!
The furnishing is simple and the facilities are limited. There is a water tap, chute for chemical toilet and a solar shower available. There is also one 6 amp power connection. In addition, there is a picnic bench, gas BBQ, 50-meter barbed fence for your dog(s) and a bicycle that you can use for free during your stay.
The camping pitch is located on a large plot of land, located between Ellewoutsdijk and Driewegen in the "Zak van Zuid-Beveland" region in the beautiful province of Zeeland!

Perfect for...

Women who, alone or together with another female camping enthusiast, prefer a quiet camping spot, surrounded by fields, birds and other wildlife.

Our large plot offers peace, space and beautiful views. And we like to share this with others. For example, we have also offered our mother (in-law) room to build a care home. In addition, we have our own company. We provide coaching and training for companies. Anne has a P&O background and is a career coach and transition trainer and Mary is a work organization psychologist & change expert. Together we solve work-related problems. This usually concerns career and development issues, conflicts or other challenges within the collaboration.

Tips

  • Walking or cycling for kilometers along the seawall of the Western Scheldt!

  • Rent an electric scooter in Heikenszand and take a beautiful ride through South Beveland!

  • Country shop at 2 km, local supermarket at 3 km, shopping and nice weekly markets in Goes, Middelburg and Veere.

  • De Koffietuin, the most idyllic backyard of South Beveland at Everingseweg 2 in Oudelande.

  • Beach brasserie De Landing in Baarland, overlooking the water at 3 km.

A very nice open and quiet place where you can slow down, where you can be yourself in nature, between the animals. You can walk very nicely.

How was the contact with the host?
The hosts are very friendly, open people (we even got tasty eggs, including a goose egg!).

Tips for new guests?
It is perfect for women who prefer not to be on crowded campsites. We had a wonderful stay, we will definitely come back!

We had two nice days on the pitch and super nice conversations with the hosts. Conversations with locals bring you closer to the country you are vacationing in. That was most beautiful in the place next to the infinite peace.
We even forgot to close our window, we felt so good.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact was great! Also available at any time via the Campspace Chat.

Tips for new guests?
There is no shade or sanitary facilities on the pitch. Sun protection and self-sufficient equipment therefore make sense. An outdoor shower and sink are available.
For us with full equipment it was perfect.

We traveled with a dog, which does not react very reactively to other dogs. The hosts' dogs take good care of their owners, so your dog (if you're traveling with one) should be calm and non-reactive.
Conclusion: We would always come back!

A luxurious stay in all simplicity, by this I mean the luxury of the silence, hearing a Koekkoek, the sunset, and a large place all to ourselves.

I had a very nice time at this Women Only Camp Space. I was there for two nights and just enjoyed the peace and the beautiful surroundings. The Camp Space has everything you need: electricity connection, water supply and even a barbecue that you can use. In addition, the ladies are very animal-friendly and my dog was more than welcome!

To be repeated!

How was the contact with the host?
The hosts are so incredibly friendly. They spontaneously offered help with installing the caravan and this extra help was also very welcome when leaving. They are very spontaneous ladies who give you the necessary privacy during your stay. Nothing to complain about.

Scout Yolande About the scout program

Tell us about your experience
Anne and Mary have been living in this lovely spot in South Beveland for a year and a half. Here they can express their love for animals! The reception is very hospitable with fresh eggs from their own chickens. Anne and Mary will tell you everything you want to know and leave you in peace.
You are all alone and it is perfectly quiet here (at least ... if not the farmers throughout Zeeland just decide that tonight the weather conditions are perfect to get the grain from the land).
Walking from here is mainly by road, which I find a little less. But cycling is fantastic here! Cycle along the winding flower dikes (it will be beautiful here in spring when the roadsides and orchards are in bloom) or along the Western Scheldt. The water labyrinth in Hoedekenskerke is fun to visit. There you can also take a steam train to Goes.

August 2021 · Translated from dutch

Host Annemarie & Mary has responded

Good morning Yolande, Thank you for your visit to our WOCS, and the nice review you wrote. The photos are also beautiful, and indeed show a truthful image, which we also find very important! It was nice to have you as a guest, and maybe see you next year! With warm regards, Anne and Mary
