This is a truly unique camping area, the garden campsite is a completely private area with panoramic mountain views. Perfect for Couples (two people maximum for camping & inside cottage), Overlanding or just pitching a tent.
Our campsite and cottage isn’t suitable for children. There won’t be any other campers on the farm just you! It’s difficult to find this experience anywhere else!

The farm is set in the mountain foothills of the Picos de Europa near Cangas de Onís.
A place of peace, adventure, incredible views, birdwatching, organic vegetable gardens, forests, owls and stars at night, in harmony with Nature.
Reconnect with natural rhythms in your beautiful private camping area in a region packed with things to do!
There are hiking trails very close by, one trail leads down to a river where you can swim. Also trails suitable for serious mountain bikers. The famous basilica and the breathtaking lakes of Covadonga are a short drive away. We can recommend very experienced mountain guides to take you up into the Picos de Europa. There are fantastic surf schools that we can also recommend in Playa de Vega & Llanes. Some absolutely beautiful beaches are only a 30 minute drive away. Cangas de Onís is a 15 minute drive away and there are excellent restaurants & supermarkets to get supplies. On Sunday there is a market in town where you can sample local foods.
The farm is 20 hectares, consisting of chestnut forests and grazing pastures. The Circle garden campsite has a picnic table, compost toilet & sink with running water (only cold). There is a private clothes line in the campsite if you want to hand wash your clothes in the sink & hang them to dry. There is a private outdoor solar shower area which can have hot water depending if it’s been sunny! This campsite is surrounded by peach & plum trees which you are welcome to pick.

BBQ & fire pit area. Wood can be collected for free from the forest or purchased from us in bundles (€5 per bundle).
Fresh eggs can be purchased from us everyday. (€2.50 for 6 eggs) Our seasonal vegetables, fruit, organic wholemeal sourdough bread & home brewed kombucha can also be purchased. Please ask for more information.
There is a local bakery service every day to our village apart from Sundays, let us know the day before & we can place your orders for you the following morning & deliver it to you. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THE FARM. No extra visitors or parties.

Only one vehicle permitted. We have some amazing places in our fields for Overlanding. If you bring a camper-van/4x4 it will go in the field facing the amazing mountain view, there is a flat grass area & there is also shade from a hazel tree. It is close to the campsite.

If you would like to stay in the little cottage, it is very special. It’s a rental house a little different from the rest.
The house is small but well equipped with a functional kitchen (cooker and top, fridge, kettle, toaster, blender, Italian coffee maker, microwave, wood-fired Nordica range, all utensils etc.) and bathroom (shower and hot bath) downstairs and a large double bedroom/relax space upstairs with comfy sofa, annex gallery room and balcony with seating. In the annex there is a single sofa bed which ideal for children. The house is built from traditional chestnut and oak timber frame with lime plasters. Heating is provided by the wood-fired range or radiator.

If you like listening to music there is a rechargeable Bluetooth radio that you can also use as a speaker connected to your phone or laptop. Lovely to listen to some music in the garden while watching the sun go down.

Hi, I’m Claudia and I live in Asturias with my husband & two boys. I absolutely love gardening and I’m very interested in permaculture and growing all our food organically. If not busy outside, I’m busy in the kitchen baking bread or making Kombucha! We have lots of happy chickens and three very loveable cats called Duco, Tommy & Luca, also a Border Collie called Betty.
My family & I love spending time in nature and we’re trying our best to be self-sufficient farmers on our mountain home near Cangas de Onís.

This was one of the nicest camping spots we've ever visited. The view and tranquility are simply unparalleled. All the basics are provided and yet you experience the unique feeling of wild camping.

How was the contact with the host?
Awesome! Claudia and Christopher are very hospitable, generous, sweet, warm hosts with their hearts in the right place. In addition, they have two treasures of sons, who help where they can. Our children have become attached to them from day 1 and still miss them. Oh, and don't forget the dogs, cats and chickens: our stay wouldn't have been the same without those cool animals.

Tips for new guests?
- Stay long enough, because in the end you will always find that you were just a little too short.
- Forget unnecessary luxuries. Enjoy.
- Most importantly, throw the stick.

If you like cycling with steep climbs, this is a good base. There are many beautiful mountain roads with little car traffic.

Breathtaking views, the most lovely host I've ever met and amazing memories. If there is one camping you should go to, it is this one! We're already planning of going back and staying for multiple nights. It was such an amzing and magical experience, being all alone on the campside. We were able to set up our tent in the meadow facing the mountains. You can also opt to place it in a secluded area where the shower, toilet and campfire are. The views were amazing, surreal!

How was the contact with the host?
- Claudia and her family are so warm, friendly and welcoming. Before arriving she checked in with us and provided a detailed description of how to get to the location. On arrival she introduced us to her two boys which are such sweet kids and showed us around.
- the facilities (shower, toilet, kitchen) are so clean and cosy! claudia really has eye for the details, she even put fresh flowers from the garden in a small vase in the kitchen.
-You really can tell claudia is passionate about being a host, you can ask her anything but she really respects your privacy. Claudia has a really positive vibe.

Tips for new guests?
- I would really recommend to stay for multiple days! It is such a magical place with breathtaking views.
- Look at the stars at night
- Taste claudia's home made kombucha! It's simply amazing. If you want to know more about making kombucha yourself, she is really passionate about it and happy to tell you all you need to know. she was so friendly to write down the instructions and even gave us some scoby to start brewing our own kombucha at home. A really special souvenir!
- We received home made plum jam with plums from the garden when departing. So lovely! Will enjoy it at home and remenice about our amazing stay!
- The cats and dogs are so lovely as well. We love dogs and don't have one at home, so Claudia allowed us to entertain Betty all night. Love it! :)

This camping spot is unbelievable. The whole site for you alone. With a view of the mountains and a view of sunrise. You are completely surrounded by nature. Claudia and Christopher have arranged their grounds with respect for nature and together with nature. You can enjoy the silence (no cars nearby), you only hear the animals in the area: cows, goats, chickens... you have everything you need: by means of mini solar panels you can charge cellphone. We had a wonderful stay at the wild Mountain Camping. I was a little scared for the road there (imagining steep cliffs etc) but the description we got from Claudia was very clear and the road was fine. When we arrived Claudia and her boys were awaiting us. The camping area is wonderful with all you need. Our son went with the boys into the surroundings to get wood and they thought him to make fire with some dry grass and wood sticks. The outdoor shower is ready as also wonderful - not so often you get the experience a shower outside surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We felt very relaxed here and got to experience a bit of the life off the beaten track. I wished we could have stayed longer, and so does the rest of the family. :)
We definitely hope to return some day.

Our family spent a (very hot) week at Claudia's and Christopher's campsite. It is a wonderful place, with gorgeous views on the mountains, absolutely away from it all. The campsite is nicely set up with fruit trees, a large table, a fire place, a solar shower and a little shed for storage, washing up and a dry toilet with a view (!). We had the option to place our tent on the nearby meadow, so we had lots of space to roam around. Doglovers are treated with a pair of friendly, playful dogs.
Driving up to the campsite is perfectly feasible with a normal car, though it is a bit of an adventure due to the small and steep road. I was happy that my husband was driving ;-).
This place is of course more expensive than a regular campsite, but if you love peace & quiet, nature, and vista's it is definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

Communication was fast and friendly, and we got a helping hand when needed. Thanks Claudia & family for making us feel welcome!

Tips for new guests?
Take the walk down to the Zardon river. It feels a bit like a walk in the jungle, finding your way through ferns and brambles & climbing over fallen trees. Go swimming in the wonderful Olla de San Vicente, a 30' drive + 40' walk away. Lots of other walking/swimming/... opportunities in the Picos de Europa and the beautiful coast.

Beautiful little haven in the mountains…we received a warm welcome from Christopher and Claudia!There's a great little artisanal shop, there's possibility to buy fresh baked bread, organic vegetables plucked from their wonderful garden and more.

We had a wonderful time here! A huge camping pitch with small kitchen, dry toilet, outdoor shower was lovely. Whatever you do during the day, back at WMretreat, you have a quiet surrounding, for reading, knitting, meditation. The sound of silence, and the drone of cow- and goatbells, an occasional dogbark (the herders of the flock), owls. There are lots of birds, butterflies, etc. And the dogs and cats of the family are just as adorable 🐕🐱

Claudia, Chris and the boys are a fine family, caring, interested, quiet, but there when needed. We had very good bread, veggies, fruit and eggs (their son will tell you which chicken gave which egg 😉).

Completely wonderful. This camp space is breathtakingly beautiful, a piece of heaven just perfectly arranged for the most delightful camping experience.

In the end we stayed 5 nights instead of two and I’m already planning to go back.

We felt so very much at home in this environment and the beautiful camping space they have created.

What a wonderful place Claudia, Chris and the kids have made in the mountains near Picos de Europa. The road from the nearest village to the house is quite adventurous but manageable in a normal car. One you are at the site, you have magnificent views (one of our all time top campspots) and all the space you will need. We felt a bit like wild camping, but with lots of extra amenities like: a compost toilet, shower, bbq, fresh veggies from the garden and lovely hosts to show us around. Will definitely come back one day!

Amazing place and amazing host. You will enjoy camping in wild nature of Asturias with beautiful view to mountains. You will be hosted by really nice and friendly family, dog, cats and chickens :) I didn't miss anything here. You are going to be provided with place for your tent, cold shower, clean rustical toilet, grill/fire place, fresh water and you can buy some delicious fresh food as eggs, jam, veggies, fruit. I definitely recommend this place. It's perfect if you want to spend some time in peace, because it's hidden in the middle of forest and mountains. I felt very welcomed by host and had really nice time.

I spoke with Claudia through WhatsApp. She provided me with all necessary information and she was always willing to help. So contact was without any problems, Claudia always responded quickly.

As the camping is on the edge of Picos de Europa, you can drive to some really magnificent places in the mountains, from relaxing hikes to exciting climbs, these mountains are incredible. If you rather enjoy the sea, the coastline is filled with beautiful beaches (some more commercial and busy, others very 'wild') and only half an hour away. If you don't want to go very far, there are some cozy towns very close, or you can just come to complete rest at the camping.

What a beautiful place to camp! Completely hidden in the middle of the most beautiful nature, in the foothills of the Picos de Europa. The silence and tranquility are indescribable. We made a fire and enjoyed a beautiful summer evening. Claudia received us very warmly and made sure we had everything for a wonderful night in nature. A very nice place to come back to!

We feel so lucky to have found this paradise. The camping area is made with so much love and care and is surrounded by fruit trees, mountains and a vegetable garden.
The views are amazing!And there's lots to do in the area like hiking down to the river, visit all the old towns . Claudia, Chris and the boys, thank you so much for sharing your special place and we hope to be back soon!

Maximum two people for camping.
NO SMOKING anywhere on the farm.
No loud music or extra visitors.

Please use the bin provided & take your own rubbish with you when you leave.

We have three farm cats that are very friendly and will probably want to say hello to you! Please don’t feed them as they will want to be your forever friend! :-)

Please use the compost toilet provided if you are using the campsite.

Silence after 11pm.

Please don’t fly drones without asking permission first, it can be unsettling for our animals & also disturb the peace & tranquility of our home.

Please leave everything clean & tidy & as you found it.

Please note: the solar shower will heat up more when the weather is sunny, if cold weather than the shower may not be particularly warm. Please close gates after you.

Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded.
