Viibemaa is a vibrant small-scale homestead with vegetable garden, farm animals and greenhouses.

We have a passion for beauty, authenticity and real food here. The buildings you will find here are inspired by the use of natural and local materials.

- The shower area is in our greenhouse, please use only natural products here. These will be provided.

- The cabin is off-grid and electricity is provided via solar panels. Water comes from the well and filtered drinking water is provided.

- Our cat, goats, chickens and rabbits would love to meet you!

The hosts are a Belgian couple who immigrated to Saaremaa a few years ago in search for a place to call home, amidst the forest and surrounded by the sounds of nature. Laura is an artist, and creates woodcut prints by hand. Jonas aims at becoming a blacksmith in the future and also has a passion for woodworking.

We are located close to the Vilsandi National Park, Viidumae nature reserve and about 5 kilometers from the beach. At 3 km from us you can find a restaurant, a cocktailbar/art gallery and a Coop supermarket.

Building with natural and local materials

Your host, Jonas

We are a Belgian couple that moved to the serene Estonian island Saaremaa in 2020. From that moment on we have been focusing all our time on building up our small homestead. With our ultimate goal of being as self-sufficient as possible. Laura is an artist and makes prints using wood or lino carvings. She also makes all the plans and ideas for the homestead. Jonas is the one that makes most of the constructions on the homestead. He loves to work with wood and hopes to someday become a blacksmith.
