About this campspace

We are Coronaproof - our guests have their own sanitary facilities.

It's just pure here, like you're camping in the wild. This Campspace is intended for people who want to relax. So come wild camping in my big backyard. A beautiful view from the tent is assured. I'd also like to show you the food forest—a piece of land with fruit and nut trees that I'm now building in my garden.

Located in the old peat bogs of Drenthe, you have a view of the wide fields. On the west side of the Hunze is the Hondsrug. With the Drouwenerzand. An old shifting sand area with juniper berries and old forests. You can take a walk on the Boomkroonpad, visit dolmens and visit the Hunebedmuseum nearby. A beautiful nature reserve can be found at the Ruiten Aa on the east side of the peat colonies. A visit to the Bourtange fortress is also very interesting.

You can also (depending on the season) buy fresh asparagus and blueberries from the neighbour's farm.

What a beautiful place to camp. Nice view and what a rest. Nice that there was also enough shade. Due to the heat, we have not explored much of the area, so we would like to come back.

How was the contact with the host?
Fine, received tasty eggs (not comparable to those from the store)
Thank you for your hospitality!

We were looking for a secluded natural place all to ourselves, and that what we got, and even better. Disturbed by literally no one the entire stay - not even by the host himself - we were able to enjoy peace and quiet in the middle of nature, with a little luxury having running water right at the camp site, and a warm shower and a toilet not too far away, and again all to ourselves. This place is just great!

How was the contact with the host?
Communication with Robin was easy and very helpful. Introduction was quick and informative. He was available for questions, but didn’t pass by the camp site. He seems to know exactly what people look for when they book his place - peace and quiet.

Wonderfully quiet secluded spot where you have all the space to be disturbed by no one. It is indeed like wild camping but then legal, find it in the Netherlands.

How was the contact with the host?
Short and friendly on entry, not seen elsewhere, just right for a place like this.

Once again, the experience was perfect, and Robin was very helpful with our questions. The contact was easy and the facilities were clean and working.

The camping spot is sunny and sheltered at the same time. Additionally, we felt we had privacy because it is a one-pitch place, so we had the space all for ourselves.

Amazing place for a camp. It's a remote and super nice atmosphere.

How was the contact with the host?
Super easy, the hosts were really nice and hospitable.

Tips for new guests?
During the night at the end of May it can get really windy and really cold. Be prepared.

Does exactly what it says :) A nice little place with no fuss. It is quiet and beautifully green. I took the opportunity to cook 'cave man' for once, because you can simply make your own campfire here in a fire bowl and there is plenty of wood.

How was the contact with the host?
The hosts are friendly and hospitable, explain how everything works and then leave you alone.

Tips for new guests?
Plan your route, you can walk very nicely in the area.

We were able to pick a spot in the large garden, between trees and meadows. There was a fire bowl. There was sanitary facilities and also outside the site, a sink for washing dishes. Apart from the luxury of sanitary facilities, the place gave an experience that resembled wild camping. In the pictures the place already looked good and in reality all expectations were exceeded. Thank you!

The host was very warm and hospitable

Tips for new guests?

Heerlijk rustige plek met vrij veel dingen op fietsafstand (al is dit natuurlijk relatief).

Dit zal niet de laatste keer geweest zijn dat ik hier neerstrijk!

How was the contact with the host?

Me and my girlfriend stayed for a single night in Ingmar's beautiful and peacefull garden. The were several suitable spots to pick from, in the relevant areas the grass was neatly cut and the ground was flat. His land is surrounded by a small patch of trees on one side and some farming fields on the other. The facilities provided were excellent and much better than I would have expected, we had access to a clean toilet, shower, and a sink with fresh tap water in a small garden house.

How was the contact with the host?
Ingmar gave us a warm welcome, small tour of the garden and gave us a couple fresh chicken eggs as a welcoming gift. He left us to camp in the back of the garden, but assured us he would be available should we need anything. Because of other obligations the next day we had to get up and pack relatively early so we didn't see eachother after, but we would both like to thank you again for the great experience Ingmar!

Tips for new guests?
If you're hesitating, don't. This was our first booking through campspace website and certainly won't be the last.

As for the local area I'd recommend to check out the nearby lake ' 't Nije Hemelrijk', it's ideal for hiking, mountainbiking or a regular bicycle trip.

What an incredibly nice spot, private camping 2.0! The host ensures that you lack nothing, and lets you enjoy his beautiful camp space in peace. A lovely spacious shower and private toilet, electricity for your cool box, and we were even allowed to go in the hot tub! Fresh eggs every day, a fire bowl to make a campfire and the privacy of a private access road. We really enjoyed 2 weeks and will definitely come back!

The reception was fine, I felt right at home and everything was neatly explained. Very friendly and jovial. It was wonderful to stay at this campspace. Plenty of space and clean and nice sanitary facilities. Waking up in nature with all the animals that make themselves heard. Definitely a place for me to visit more often.

I cycled on gravel, MTB routes and spent a morning in Assen. Enjoying the campspace itself

The campspace itself is lovely. Nice and spacious for a tent or camper van. We were with Landrover with roof tent Wide view over the fields on one side and forest on the other. Nice fire in the evening and delicious fresh eggs in the morning.
Very extensive and well maintained sanitary facilities which is very pleasant.
We really enjoyed this place and the hospitality and would like to come back again.

This location definitely deserves 5 stars. On arrival, the host warmly welcomes you. A very nice man who is happy to show you what is present on the site. Then he lets you go and you don't see him again. Exactly what you want if you are looking for peace, but it is always close by when you need it. Location is gorgeous. Very natural, you hear various (predatory) birds and there were plenty of insects at this time of year. There was something magical about waking up, with the sun shining through the mist between the trees. I will definitely go again next year!

If you like peace and quietness then it's camping spot would be perfect! We were alone and we had a stunning view. What was nice was that you could make a fire in a fire bowl from the Host, we could even gather wood at the campsite. Furthermore, an excellent toilet and shower. Welcoming Host, very nice but quickly gave us the space to be alone I would definitely recommend this campsite!

It was a great first experience with Campspace. We will set up our tent through you more often. The contact with the owners was excellent. They received us hospitably and then left us alone. The location is beautiful and the sanitary is in order. What I did not know, but very handy: You can drive your car all the way to your tent. There is also cold drinking water and an old counter halfway through the site (for washing dishes).

Contact with the host was great and the place was beautiful. The plumbing was well arranged and modern. You are in the backyard but you have the feeling that you are really camping in nature. The host has made a washing-up area with water near the place. For the shower and toilet, you have to walk a bit to the back of the house where you have your own private bathroom. There is also electricity available.

We slept on Robin’s field for two nights. Robin leaves you completely free and you have a wonderful private place here for yourself. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean. There are chickens and cats around who say hello every now and then. A fire in the fire pit with a beautiful sunset made it complete for us.

We (2 pensionados) enjoyed our one week stay at Campspace “Veldzicht”. The site is located on a large semi-wild plot. The place in front of the tent is very spacious and neatly mowed. On one side is a softly rustling poplar forest and on the other side a clear view of field and sky. The (private) sanitary facilities are not designed for campers, but function excellently. The host is friendly, helpful (with empty batteries…), and respects your privacy 100%. You feel as free here as the many birds around you and you feel alone in the world.

After a long bike ride we arrived at Robin’s house. Here we were allowed to choose from three different spots on the site behind his house. The nice thing is that between the grounds and the house there is a small piece of forest, making it feel more like a campsite than sleeping in someone’s backyard. The bathroom (accessible via a private entrance at the rear of the house) is nice and neat, and during the COVID period only for you as a camper. In addition, the fire bowl is ready and you can walk around the forest. We liked the place so much that we are back now! As an extra, Robin has made an outdoor counter with washing-up area and drinking water near the camping spot. If all together highly recommended.

Robin is a friendly host who showed us the shower facilities and several places we could pitch our tent on arrival, but left us alone afterwards. There were piles of old wood from which we made a lovely campfire and put two of Robin’s chairs next to it. There are also dolmens in the area, which is a nice trip. The trip was a success, although I wonder why you pay double for 2 people compared to 1 person.

Wonderfully quiet location between a field and an accessible forest plot. Own entrance/exit from the back. Suitable for walkers, cyclists, cars, and motorcyclists (like me). Sufficient catering and shops within cycling distance. Sanitary neat (also depends on yourself). The owner is friendly and, if requested, leaves you completely alone during your stay, but is available. Tent field with water tap, wide view and fireplace. Lots of flowers, herbs, and other crops, which also means varied insect and bird visits. Free-range chickens around the house (do not enter the tent field). Depending on the season, various fruits for picking.
