Vegawagen Psyche, a fairy tale in Coevorden
About this campspace #s006491

Your host
LindaVegawagen Psyche has been transformed in 4 years from a canteen into a nostalgic royal caravan, and has been receiving guests since August 2019. The theme is the fairy tale Psyche by Louis Couperus, with accompanying drawings by Bernard Reith, great-uncle of hostess Linda. Some drawings are depicted in wood.
The car is in a spacious place – about 1000 m2 around is a guest garden – with fruit trees and a panoramic view. Linda and partner Paul are vegan and vegetarian. Meat or fish consumption is not allowed at this location.
Guests can expect tranquility. And sometimes everything that belongs to rural life. The accommodation is self-sufficient. Vegetarian cooking can be done on two electric plates; there is coffee and tea. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, oven and toaster. The car has a terrace on the ditch, where you can sit in the morning sun and look out over the countryside. The car can come to the side of the car through the main entrance. The mobile toilet (dixi) is 10 meters away. The shower trolley is a little further. The vegan car is pet-free and vegan. There are books and games, and ideas for trips. The interior can be described as nostalgic, second-hand, creative, colorful and, according to guests, embracing, detailed and cared for. Outside is a large picnic table. A fire can be lit and there is a BBQ. TV is not present, but radio is. There is wi-fi (which can be turned off) and a fixed internet connection for a laptop or something. Depending on the season, there is heating and an electric blanket, or cooling. We rent out touring bikes (no e-bikes). You will find a village shop 700 meters away (Mon-Fri), supermarkets at 7 km.
We live in a large and smaller house, 70 resp. 80 meters from the car, and are usually present and available for questions, help, requests. We like it when guests, just like us, enjoy their own place and go about their business.
This outlying area of Coevorden has a history of peat excavations and peat extraction. Families worked hard under difficult circumstances. If you go hiking or cycling in the area, you will come across information boards with old photos. One of the last raised bog nature areas is opposite the plot. And in the Dalerpeelse forest, within walking distance, you can also see the peat landscape during a beautiful and peaceful walk. Coevorden, 7 kilometers to the east, is an old fortified town. There you will find the only castle in Drenthe. There is much to do and experience in the wider area. Information is available in the car and Coevorden has a Tourist Information Point.
Outside the holiday periods, regional bus 33 passes between Coevorden and Hoogeveen. It goes once an hour, not in the evening and not on weekends. From Coevorden there are trains to the nice city of Emmen (terminus) and in the direction of Hardenberg/Zwolle. Are you dependent on public transport and are you unable to get to us? In consultation we can pick you up/drop off for an expense allowance of 5 euros per ride.
