About this micro camping
We are located in the Black Mountains, very close to the Brecon Beacons, with stunning views. Although we have a local campsite in our village, our experience is unique as e.g. it is away from the main road, is small scale and we allow open camp fires .
We welcome family groups as well as individuals and couples. We have a permanent fire pit, so you can have an open fire if there is someone in your party who can manage this responsibly. We will provide firewood for a fee or donation, with the proceeds going to an African educational charity of our choice.
We have a large barbeque which you can use providing you bring your own charcoal, but not coal.
You will have use of our wetroom, which is situated in the main house, but will be avalaible 24/7. It contains a toilet, sink and powershower.
There is also an outdoor tap that gives spring water from our private supply.
Our home is an operating small holding, including an orchard. We grow our own vegetables, and we keep chickens in our orchard. Seasonal vegetables and eggs are available for purchase.
Unfortunately we cannot welcome dogs due to the livestock, and our resident cats.
Cwmdu village is about 10mins walk away, and has a cafe, a community owned pub and a church. There is a bus to the local towns twice a week!
Our home is located 10 minutes drive from the Greenman Festival site, and about 20 mins from Hay-On-Wye (Book Festival), and also from Brecon (Jazz Festival). There are many spectacular footpaths close to us, and we are a field away from the Beacons Way Long Distance Footpath. There are also many beautiful castles, rivers and lakes nearby.
