About this campspace #s007198

We offer a place for campers on historical grounds, between the forest and the river, below a castle ruin and an adjacent historical Maierhof.
In the morning it can happen that horses, donkeys or goats stand in front of the tent to greet you.
At night the owls call to go to sleep.
If you love pure nature, you've come to the right place, because the site is surrounded by lots of nature and forest.
On request, an overnight stay in the private forest is also possible.
The meadow stretches from the parking lot about 1 km to the forest.

Activities in the area
-The river Nagold flows through our property and invites you to cool down on hot days.
-The meadow is located directly below the Waldeck castle ruins (approx. 7 minutes' walk away).
-Several sandstone rocks also come out of the mountain, which invite you to boulder.
- Furthermore, with 4 minutes drive you are in the birthplace of Hermann Hesse in Calw.
-Also in 4 minutes drive you can reach the shepherd's run town of Wildberg.
-In the immediate vicinity is the Xanderklinge, which impresses with its small waterfalls.
-A visit to the silver mine in Neubulach is also always worthwhile.
-As well as the castle ruins in Bad Teinach/ Zavelstein.
- A hiking and cycling path runs along the edge of the property, which takes you quickly to the adjacent train station in Bad Teinach (30-45 minutes on foot).
Shops, as well as bakeries, cafes and restaurants are in the nearby towns (each 4 minutes drive) Calw & Wildberg.
You can buy our own chicken and duck eggs from us. (While stocks last)
You would have to bring wood for grilling or collect it in the area.

Beautiful spot in nature, with goats as neighbours. It is on a busy road, but it becomes a lot quieter in the evening/night.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact / our arrival was a bit unclear, but in the end we were nicely helped by two nice girls.

Tips for new guests?
Making a campfire in the evening! And Calw is a nice place to visit.

I reached the beautiful pitch in the Nagoldtal on Sunday afternoon and was allowed to choose a spot on the meadow on the right side of the farm.

The farm is on a dual carriageway behind a river and below a beautiful ruined castle. To reach the parking space, I had to cross the wooden bridge once and turn right onto the meadow in front of the farm buildings.

The social rooms are located in the main part of the courtyard building. I already received the numerical code from Andreas in advance to get the key in the key box. The key box is located just next to the front door on the side of the building. The building ensemble itself lies behind a gate, where the senior center is also located.

The social rooms are beautifully quaint. As soon as I entered, I was almost in the billiard room. In the first room on the right is another playroom with a foosball table and other toys. A dream for children! The passage at the back right brought me to the toilets & the door at the back left leads to the old dining room, which can also be used.

I spent the evening with my camping neighbors around a campfire at the built fire pit, & had a fantastic evening!

I really enjoyed my time here & would love to come back sometime.

How was the contact with the host?
Andreas is a very warm host who is happy to show you everything on the farm and also introduced me to the animal residents.

Of course, the contact by e-mail in advance also worked very well, the response time was quick, and the appointment was made without any problems.

Tips for new guests?
My most important tip: think of your wedges!
The meadow is beautiful, but of course not quite level, but with a wedge that's no problem.

If you prefer to camp a little more remotely, you can ask Andreas if he can camp on the back part of the meadow. This meadow extends to the edge of the forest & is easily accessed via a gated path. If you walk to the end of the meadow and into the forest, you can also find the cave that Andrea's son built. Just when you think you're definitely in the wrong place here, you can already see the fence and find the rustic shelter behind it directly on the river. It will certainly not be more secluded & fun is definitely pre-programmed here.

There are various cycling and hiking trails in the area, which sounded super exciting. The trip to the castle is a short but quite steep walk & is really good fun. I can highly recommend that.

Overall, the site is the perfect starting point for hikes and other outdoor activities!

Nice pitch surrounded by greenery.
Unfortunately, it is also very close to a main road with the corresponding volume of traffic, so unfortunately not quiet.

Cell phone reception is mediocre.

How was the contact with the host?
Very pleasant contact.

A great place with a particularly relaxed atmosphere. The children were taken to the stable by a very nice employee of the farm as soon as they arrived 😊 We all really liked it.

When we arrived it was quite busy. The next day we had the grounds to ourselves. Very nice place, next to a refreshing stream and between the trees. You can choose where you want to be.

How was the contact with the host?
Little interaction; you have to ask yourself what you need

Tips for new guests?
Definitely try this place out. The area is beautiful and the town of Calw is very nice. Sometimes the horse and donkey pass by behind your camper.

Beautiful place to pitch your tent / caravan! Field surrounded by wooded hills, along which a clear river flows where we bathed several times daily (although it is not very warm and shallow). Many beautiful birds of prey to see and in the evening a beautiful starry sky, if it is not cloudy then. It is true that the place runs along a busy road, in our experience this does not bother much as it is especially loud during the day. We were still out, there are 20+ walks within a fifteen minute drive.

How was the contact with the host?
Absolutely great! Andreas is a nice guy who let us choose our own spot right after arrival. Even when the battery of our car was empty, he and his father immediately came to our aid. They even video call a friend with car knowledge! We were able to leave very quickly.

Tips for new guests?
Walking, walking, walking. You can find different walks on Google maps, which are indicated with signs. Or look at teinachtal.de.

This place is highly recommended, we had a great time here! The river invites you to refresh yourself! The goats provide great enthusiasm for the domain. The relaxation area offers great play activities for children. The domain is along the track, but that didn't bother us. The sanitary facilities (toilet and sink) are neat and tidy!

How was the contact with the host?
Andreas is a very friendly guy, available when you need him but respects your privacy & is based on trust

Tips for new guests?
A walk to the ruins of Waldeck is recommended!

Very nice location in the middle of the valley. Near the castle ruins. Nice refreshing river that you can walk into. Well along a busy road with a lot of driving.

Good! Easy going, leaves you free to do your thing.

Tips for new guests?
Go to the small waterfalls of Xanderklinge there you can make a nice trip through it with a surprise on the way.
