About this campspace #s005000
Spend the night with a view of the vineyard
Hiking, cycling, swimming, enjoying the landscape, relaxing, inexpensive dining, wine tasting ...
The area is particularly suitable for cyclists, mountain bikers and hiking. In less than an hour you can walk to the Zabelstein castle ruins with its observation tower and a panoramic view of the Franconian countryside. Below the Zabelstein lies the hamlet of Neuhof with its archery Parkur and the adventure farm. On hot days you can cool off at the natural swimming lake "Gipssee" near Donnersdorf. The restaurants in Falkenstein and the neighboring towns are ideal for your physical well-being. A special experience is also a wine tasting on the Falkenberg or looking over the shoulders of the winegrowers in the vineyard.
For day trips, for example, the cities of Gerolzhofen, Volkach, Würzburg, Schweinfurt or Bamberg with their many sights come into consideration. Thanks to the excellent network of cycle paths and the proximity to the Main Cycle Path, you can also easily reach these destinations by bike.
Vineyard: Donnersdorfer Falkenberg
The Falkenberg is probably the most beautiful vineyard in Franconia. The many small vineyard houses are characteristic of this. You can hike between vineyards, hedges and rainen on the paved paths and enjoy nature. Those who need even more exercise can climb the Zabelstein from the Falkenberg on various hiking trails. The Falkenberg is also part of the Steigerwald panorama hiking trail between Bamberg and Bad Windsheim.
In Falkenstein, a small, idyllic district of Donnersdorf, the Dörflein family runs their winery in one of the most beautiful vineyards in Franconia, the Donnersdorfer Falkenberg.
The small vineyard parcels with their approx. 50 vineyard houses exude a special charm. The vineyard is in the Steigerwald wine panorama area and between the charming cities of Würzburg and Bamberg. The vineyards nestle against the sun-drenched foothills of the Steigerwald below the Zabelstein. With a height of 489 meters, it is an ideal destination for hikers and cyclists.
The fourth generation of the family is already running viticulture. The grape varieties Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner and Acolon are grown.
The winery achieves through painstaking manual work that you can harvest healthy and sunlit grapes. These form the basis for fruity and expressive wines. Modern, cellar-technical processes such as cold fermentation contribute to the fact that the quality from the vineyard can also be felt in the glass.
But only those who try can be enthusiastic about these wines. So visit us and get to know our wines.
You are welcome to fill up your battery and water tank with us.
Your Dörflein family looks forward to your visit.
