About this campspace #s006516
This two-person log cabin is hidden on the edge of the village of Feanwâlden and the touristic Feanwâldsterwal in the Northeast Friesland region. A region that is characterized by its landscape diversity. For example, you can start a canoe trip through 'Het Bûtenfjild' just a stone's throw away, you can walk through the wetlands of 'De Houtwiel' or 'De SippenFinnen' or take a bike ride through the 'smuke' bocage landscape that is characterized by tree walls. A day trip to the island, for example to Schiermonnikoog or Ameland, should not be missed. Furthermore, Dokkum and Leeuwarden are beautiful historic cities to visit.
The hut is located on the site of Sûnte, which is 2ha in size. Sûnte is an organic self-harvest garden with vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers. For dinner you harvest your own lettuce and for a cup of tea you pick an herb of your choice. In the evening you can make a campfire in the meadow and if you want you can also cook over the fire there. For children there is a trampoline, a football goal and a small survival track. There is a RustPunt on the site for walkers and cyclists. There is coffee/tea and ice cream for sale.
The log cabin is a converted canteen and has a refrigerator, a two-burner induction plate, kettle and coffee maker. There is also a pallet wood stove and three possible sleeping places with folding mattresses. One of the sleeping places is also a chill corner, which can be climbed via the kitchen. Fun for kids!
A spacious veranda offers all kinds of opportunities to sit or work outside, with a view of the picking garden. On the south side of the hut is a picnic bench where you look out over the meadow with, among other things, Christmas trees and Tamworth pigs. Toilet and shower are 30 meters away. Two ladies' bicycles are optionally available.

Your host, trynke
I'm Trynke Havinga, co-founder of our organic community garden with organic vegetables, flowers, herbs and fruits. Together with my husband Tim and our two children we manage a yard of 2 ha. The principles of permaculture form the basis of our garden, with the aim of producing food locally. Knowledge sharing and meeting are important pillars in this regard.
The expression 'The whole is greater than the sum of its parts' symbolizes permaculture and says as much as 'put it together'. No monotonous fields, but a colorful palette, above and below the ground. Good for soil fertility, good for biodiversity and good for the mind. And we are happy to share the latter with anyone who wants to.
Our yard is an accessible place and offers guests and passers-by the opportunity to sit in the garden, to harvest or work in the garden. We do this on the basis of permaculture principles. Living together, sharing together is paramount.
