About this campspace

What is TMH OFFERING
A Cozy homestead nestled on the south edge of the famous Kaiangaroa forest. Situated in a former, thriving logging timber town and world renowned, largest man made forest.
The house is without power mainly due to government forestry sell-off to overseas company's forcing the town to downsize re: work opportunities and more. Second, it is the owner's entrepreneurship and survival instinct to seek and offer this alternate and unique option as follows: OUTDOOR CABIN COMFORTS WITH A HOMELY TWIST.
Thankfully there is gas available for any cooking required including all the cook-ware and eating utensil's etc. Tubs, wash-house, outdoor drying are also available and the rest is normal living. Lantern or safe candle power is available for lighting.

ROOMS
With spacious rooms, sleeping bags with your own linen are the norm but some linen and blankets are available. A cozy fireplace is a special comfort treat at anytime.
Backyard also offers ample space for smaller outdoor tents, camper vans, parking.
LOCATION
Living is not always about the home but the location therefore, to the NNW of Murupara, 46km away is the exciting tourist city of Rotorua (locally known as Roto-vegas). To the North, 1 hours drive, travel along the Galatea farmlands and ranges, over the Matahina dam to the beautiful coastal city of Tauranga and all along the NNE coast smaller towns and city of Whakatane. To the SSW, again 1 hours drive, travel through tall forests and then an alternate route over the Reporoa farmlands to the stunning and beautiful central smaller city of Lake Taupo.
DRAW-CARD HISTORY
My favorite attraction to this unique homestead living is also, being on the other edge of the historical, indigenous tribal home of the TUHOE nation people. With their home back yard the SPIRITUAL, SACRED, MAGICAL UREWERA NATIVE FOREST, with their iconic traditional landmarks. Amazing flora and fauna (with their treasured medicinal qualities), mountain, ranges, lakes, rivers, birds, wild animals, tramping, fishing, hunting, eeling, indigenous living with main stream and cultural, language and traditional lifestyle. This is the backdrop to TTH.
A SHORT EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO A CLOSE LOCAL MARAE CAN BE ARRANGED AT YOUR YOUR EXPENSE.
Stories of the early settler and Maori battles at Gate Pa, recent gang affiliation, wars, military, hob nail boots, old school parties, sports competitions, tree planting records, lotto wins, native forest birds, flora and fauna and more will wet your appetite OR send shivers up your spine.
Cultural, Spiritual and ethnic sensitivity is a must at all times on the home base and in the community.
THANK YOU
This makes up the whole homestead option package. An opportunity not to be missed.
Welcome one and all to TIC TOC'S HOME.
PS. After or during your visit, with your experience the owner would love any opportunity from you to comment and sign the visitors register to improve the profile and running of TTH
