Welcome to La Villeneuve!
In the heart of nature, at the top of one of the hills of southern Burgundy, surrounded by forests, hills and fields, about 45 minutes from the A6 (Autoroute du Soleil) in Chalon-Sur-Saône, you find your location. Your space is open to you all year round and is ideal in all seasons!
Located in the orchard of an old vineyard (8000 m²) with a manor, outbuildings, a garden and a park you will find 4 parking spaces separated from each other by fruit trees. Each of the seats offers plenty of space. The entire property is surrounded by a wall. Motorcyclists, families with children are also welcome here! Each place offers a lot of its own space. We are very sorry but we had very bad experiences. Unfortunately, we can no longer accept clients with dogs.
Various benches, picnic tables and other places to rest, especially in the park, invite you to linger. In autumn these spaces are wonderful for observing the new colors of nature. Enjoy the beautiful view and meet our many free-roaming animals. Whether it's domestic animals such as dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks and a donkey, or small wild animals such as birds or our only neighbours, the Charolais cattle, you will examine each one with curiosity. With us you can expect a lot of nature, peace and relaxation as well as direct contact with the country and its people.
Electric hook-ups are available for motorhomes. Drinking water supply is also guaranteed. In the area of an adjoining building there are toilets, shower, lounge and emergency accommodation in case of very bad weather. A discharge point for dirty water is about 10 minutes away and easily accessible. It is possible to rent a room in the main building.
On request, we will be happy to provide you with breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cakes or packed lunches.
There are many hiking trails, biking trails, markets and festivals in this area whether it's summer, fall or winter!
Activities such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, boat trips, covered cart rides, go-karting, etc. are also possible. Not far away are amusement parks, a zoo, a thermal bath, castles, archaeological excavation sites (eg Bibracte), places of pilgrimage (Paray-Le-Monial, Cluny), a Buddhist temple, museums, cultural institutions, restaurants, shops...
Excursions to Lyon (approx. 1h30;), Château de Guédelon (approx. 2h30), Lake Geneva (approx. 2h30), Vézelay (approx. 2h) or the Burgundy vineyard (approx. 1 hour) are also possible. Even Paris is accessible in 4 hours. On request, we will be happy to provide you with a personal guide for some of the sites.
Please do not smoke in the buildings, do not host excessive parties, and treat our animals, us, our property, nature and the surrounding area with kindness. Respect your housemates, especially during rest periods!
Whether you want to spend your entire vacation with us or are just passing through, we hope to see you again soon!

Hello,
my name is Christine. I live with my partner Gérard in Uxeau, France, since 2011. Before that I lived in Germany, but my family comes partly from Poland and Czech Republic.
I am in early retirement and just recently became a grandmother again. My children are very fast with that ;-)
I love to travel. But my family all live in different parts of the world, so usually traveling means visiting them. I thought if I can not travel to all the places I want to, maybe some people could travel to my part of the world and let me help them to have a good travel experience. I am happy that gamping is giving me the possibility for that.
I speak English, German and French.
I hope to be able to welcome some gampers very soon!
Have a nice day
Christine
Find the hidden graveyard and the "moved" village of La Boulaye.
If you go to the woods, watch out for "La Revive" ;-)

One of the most beautiful and magical places we have visited! Christine was attentive from the moment we arrived. Making sure we were parked well and we had everything we needed before wishing us good night.
How was the contact with the host?
Christine was fast to respond to messages. Making sure we had all the details before we went there. Gérard and Christine are such friendly and helpful people. They talked about moving here 11 years ago, about leaving their city lives and jobs to be closer to nature and animals.
Tips for new guests?
Make time to stay longer. It is worth it.

We had a very nice time with Christine and Gerard. There was enough shade under the big trees. Surrounded by nature and its animals, we have recovered very well. The area is ideal for excursions, for example to the Loire or by bike in the surrounding area. We will come back for sure.
How was the contact with the host?
We had a very warm contact with Christine and Gerard. Christine is quick to respond to messages via Campspace.

A beautiful, fairytale garden with many animals (chickens, roosters, cats and a dog). The view from the garden is beautiful, a unique view over the meadows and hills. It is a welcome welcome from both the owners and the animals. The animals are curious and therefore the arrival felt very warm. They are not shy but certainly also respect privacy.
How was the contact with the host?
Very friendly hosts, chat to make sure everything is going well. A welcome reception with a tour of the necessary facilities. Invited in the evening to say goodbye to another family who camped there. The next day I received the necessary advice to continue my journey.
Tips for new guests?
Village is close by for groceries.

Our stay in the Secret Garden was great. The accommodation was perfect and the area was stunning. The garden was very big so we had more than enough space and privacy. The chickens and peacocks walking around also greatly added to the charm of the garden. We would definitely recommend this camp space to others!
How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Christine was very good, she was very helpful and always in for a talk. She had a lot of recommendations for places to go in the area and was also very good with the children who were also staying there.
Tips for new guests?
If you prefer not waking up from the heat around 09:30, make sure to remember to not put your tent directly in the sun. It's not a great experience!

A little paradise. Lots of space, but the host maintains a peaceful atmosphere by limiting the amount of campers. The campsite has everything you need and Christine's hospitality is above and beyond. We highly recommend this place and wish to return for a longer stay in the future. lots of chicken too; great view.

There were wonderful, relaxed and beautiful days with Christine and Gerard. The Secret Garden is really an idyll to relax in, the wide view, the animals, the friendly people, everything is just good. We stayed here with our 2 babies and little daughter and we all really enjoyed it.

August 2021. It was our first holiday in a motorhome. We visited classic campsites, free parking lots... and La Villeneuve for 2 nights. The owners, Gérard and Christine, provided a friendly reception, a personal tour of their domain and tips for trips. Highly recommended! The location is in full nature and not crowded like classic campsites. On the domain, there are peacocks, chickens, roosters... and they didn't make any noise at night. We can confirm that now :-)

Perfect

This was one of our most finest holiday experiences. We had a lovely time in the secret garden: a small paradise tucked away behind the walls of a small estate. Christine and Gerard are warm hosts that make you feel at home from the minute you arrive till that awfull moment you have to leave. Christine taking us into the beautiful surrounding little villages, and showing us where to find abondoned graveyards and interesting roman sites, ordering us the nicest french bread (that had to be in ordered 2 days in advance)…checking the chicken eggs at night to see if they have been fertilized…the dogs sitting with us having coffee in the early morning: I could go on and on… .
I warned them: we will be back!
How was the contact with the host?
What can I say? People should take classes with them about how it is done!
Tips for new guests?
Don’t expect brand new 4 star facilities like a state of the art kitchen, bathroom or toilet. But if you’re ok with clean and rustic and love been surrounded by animals and old trees… (and lovely hosts ofourse): lean back and enjoy!

We had a warm welkom over there. Besides Christine and Gérard there where a lot of animals. Two big dogs, Lennie and Luna, several cats, peacocks, chickens and a donkey who live there. When we where setteled, they invited us to have a drink en talk about our tour and livings. They know very much about the area and tell you about places you can go. The dogs and cats also where very happy with our tent. Christine and Gérard would love to talk about stuf, but we could also do our own thing. They had a allotment where they would give us vegetables and herbs if we were cooking. The view from our tent was very beautiful and have a lot of routes you can walk and see the nice area for your own.

We had a lovely stay at Christine's on our way back home from a one-month Europe round-trip. A lovely and comfortable Campspace with everything we could ask in between the trees in Christine's garden. Such a lovely, relaxed, and welcoming reception to start with and the pleasure of sharing life stories, drinkes, and bites with Christine, Gérard, and the other guests made the first night here a fantastic experience. Having the choice to do what we wanted, seeing our two buys falling in love with the animals at Christine's place, and going exploring with Christine, Gérard and the dogs made this a true mini-holiday during our travels. Cooking and having a BBQ together on the second night became another true life experience for us and our two sons. To see our kids enjoy the environment, the animals, the rubrics-cubes, and the speaking in a foreign language that much and us exploring so many common interests, from cooking and baking to traveling and motorcycles, was an absolute pleasure. We would love to come back, both for the place and the environment as for the lovely people we met.

The roads to the secret garden wind through the Burgundian landscape. Magnificent. This Campspace lays secluded between the meadows on the rolling hills. The welcome from Christine is warm and through the contact in advance we already knew that she had some delicious food ready. After this typical French aperitif we go to the table; an ultimate Campspace experience. The Secret Garden appears to be a big garden, electricity and water are present. The sunrise and sunset are breathtaking. Are you an animal lover? Then you will be greeted by two enthusiastic dogs. The rooster, chickens and peacocks roam happily around the camper and in the morning you will hear the donkey in the background.Christine and Gerard are extremely friendly people who are only too happy to show you the best places around the area. Christine can talk for hours about the different sights and stories of the area, fantastic if you want to know more about this region.-----Michelle recommends this place:::We enjoyed our stay every minute. We set up our tent in the backyard, with a view over the surrounding hills. The place is breathtaking, with animals everywhere. I collected so many peacock feathers (Christine told me to take them, as she had way too much). They are now standing on our table at home, a nice reminder of our stay in the backyard of the place of Christine and Gerard. Our hosts were incredible friendly. As we forgot it was Sunday, all supermarkets were closed and we didnt had any food with us. Christine offered us to have dinner with her and Gerard, she had some food left which we combined with our leftovers. It was pretty good, but the conversations were even better, as we stayed for almost the whole night sitting outside and talking (and of course drinking wine). We loved the way Christine and Gerard are running their beautiful place and we would recommend it to anyone. They had a rough storm just days before we came, but they managed to fix everything. We will definitely come back! Thank you so much Christine and Gerard and good luck with everything you told us :)
