About this campspace

To be completely alone.
In the middle of nature.
Outside of the time and outside world.
Curious about what arises.

In the orchard behind the old farmhouse far from the buildings (> 50m) we have a cosy furnished gypsy wagon you can stay in. The orchard is located in the IJsselvalei near Deventer and is surrounded by meadows. You can be completely alone in the middle of nature.

In the barn of the house we have built a shower and toilet. We used tiles from all kinds of people around us that were left and made a colorful design. There is also a campfire place to make a fire under the stars in the evenings. There is wood available for some extra costs. Regularly our wood oven turns on and you can join us for a homemade pizza.

Together with my husband and kids Sven (6 years old) and Jiri (4 years old) I have been lucky to live on theMommenhoeve. It's an old farm in the IJssel valley close to Deventer and a huge fruit and nut orchard. I love making campfires behind the orchard and under a starry sky; either by myself or with other campers. I work as a photographer, filmmaker, speaker and writer or these are actually multiple shapes where I put in my explorer mindset. I love discovering new paths, both in work as being a parent, education and connecting to nature. But also literally; walking on new trails, meeting new people and follow the curiosity of my children. Recently my book Nieuwe paden came out about pioneering and following your own road and adventure. I keep discovering how nice it is to by completely by myself in nature and I love to share this experience in our orchard. If you are coming to stay for a solo camping trip, I will make sure there are no other around. Immerse yourself with nature and 'nothingness'.

Tips

  • Treat yourself for a day doing nothing

  • Make a fire under the stars among the trees

Lovely spot in the peace between the walnut trees. With hammock and tarp space enough to hang out in this beautiful place.

In the evening a nice warm fire in the fire pit and in the night the beautiful sound of different types of owls.

In a converted shed there are a lot of facilities such as a good shower, toilet, kettle, coffee maker, walking guides, nice newspaper article about the hosts Saskia & Lars and more.

I went for as back to basics as possible, but for the camper who wants a little more luxury, it's definitely there.

How was the contact with the host?
Good. Nicely received by Lars, then enjoyed the journey in solo and had a nice conversation with Saskia when checking out.

Tips for new guests?
Are you looking for a place where you really want to be completely alone? Indicate it to the host and they will ensure that you can enjoy undisturbed.

The wagon may look small on the outside, and the weather was definitely cold and wet, but once inside you find yourself in a roomy, yet cozy slice of paradise. Saskia and Lars take excellent and prompt care of their guests without being 'in your face', so the privacy you seek is guaranteed. We will surely look for a weekend to return in spring, when the walnut trees have fresh new foliage.

How was the contact with the host?
Prompt, friendly, informative and helpful.

Tips for new guests?
Book it! Now!

(but please leave a little room for us?)

How was the contact with the host?
Very nice!! There was room for a chat with Saskia or Lars. But always with respect for everyone's needs. Warm people!!

Tips for new guests?
Bring boots because you have to go through/over the grass!

Upon arrival I immediately felt relaxed. I was warmly welcomed by the hostess, Saskia. We took a walk through the walnut orchard, where I could choose a spot myself. I set up my tent in a sunny spot, with a view over the meadows with sheep. What a wonderful place to unwind. In addition to space for a tent, they also have a small cabin to spend the night in.

In the shed is a heated room with toilet, shower and washing up facility. I was there in February, so I was very happy with this luxury! A fire pit is ready for you and you can get firewood from the host for a small fee.

For questions or a chat, the hosts areavailable. Do you need rest and enjoy nature this site is a perfect spot. In 20 minutes you can reach ‘Nationaal Park Hooge Veluwe’ where you can go for a hike, a bikeride and spot wildlife
