Rest at Geyso Castle

Welcome to Hohenroda-Mansbach. We offer you space for one or two tents on the meadow and a pitch for a camper in the parking lot. We don't have sanitary facilities for camping yet, but we can of course provide you with water and electricity. We ask you to bring a hose or canister and a long cable with you. You can find wood to make a fire on the site (you have to collect it :-) There is a fire bowl in the basement. Please place on a manhole cover so that the meadow does not burn and put it back after use. Two community grills are available. The spacious area is 8,000 m2 in size, you should pay attention to a quiet night's sleep. You are welcome to marvel at the horses on the premises, but please do not feed them. The W-Lan is best used directly at the castle or in the foyer.

What is there to experience with us

We offer you a place with a lot of peace and various possibilities to relax. Be it by simply relaxing in the garden, taking walks in the area, swimming in the surrounding lakes and much more. The imagination knows no limits. In the village there is a bakery, butcher and here is the horse farm Arhöna. A small bathing lake is in the next town 2 km away. There are beautiful hiking and cycling routes in the area: for example to Grasburg and Ulster. The historic Celtic village in Sünna is 10km away. Let's go on an adventure!

I am an architect with a love for monument preservation. About us castle owners: We are a small group of idealists who bought the 16th century listed building in 2014. We plan to establish a cultural project and seminar house there. We have already been able to renovate part of the castle with ecological materials, but we are still at the beginning of a long "journey"

Tell us about your experience
First of all: the castle is enchanting! We parked our vehicle in the courtyard for one night, but you can also park on the lawn in the garden (if the weather is right). We got a little tour of the castle and you can literally see what it must have been like back then - a very nice atmosphere. Various activities can be started from the castle.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Nadja and her deputy was very nice and courteous! You can have great conversations and enjoy a nice evening on site. Thanks a lot for this.
