About this campspace

Orewoet is a quiet place located on the border of Kempen and Hageland with a pond, standard orchard, grove and donkey meadow.
We open our garden to campers who love nature and simplicity and offer a covered outdoor kitchen, BBQ, hot outdoor shower and compost toilet. Water and electricity are provided.
There are two camping spots at a good distance from each other.
Here you can swim among frogs and dragonflies, brush donkeys, hug trees, spot birds or enjoy a sauna.
The domain is located in a cul-de-sac, but sometimes there is passage and on Saturdays there are fishermen at the fish pond next to our pond.
In the morning and evening you will mainly hear birds, frogs, a rooster, a donkey, a hedgehog, a cricket, an owl or other animals and creatures from the forest.
Mosquitoes are also there. So it is best to bring an anti-mosquito product.
Extras include a wood-fired sauna (25 euros) and a guided walk with a donkey (10 euros for a 1-hour walk).
Within walking distance (2 km) is Averbode Bos en Heide, a large and beautiful nature reserve. The Demerbroeken with vineyard, witness hills and Galloway cattle in the meadows of the Demer valley are also not far away.
Cultural and culinary cycling trips possible to Aarschot, Diest, Zichem, Westerlo,..
We have two bicycles available for free.
We don't allow dogs for the time being, our cats are too old to get out quickly.

Perfect for...

families, walkers, cyclists, nature lovers

We love to garden, walk, meet people and we enjoy sharing the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings with other people. Welcome!

Tips

  • In the morning a refreshing dip in the swimming pond together with the kingfisher.

  • On foot, by bike or by donkeys to the heath to watch the sun set in one of the beautiful pools.

  • There are shops in the area with regional products, including in the Abbey of Averbode

  • Plenty of choice!

  • In the Redemption you will have a nice meal in the house where Willem Elsschot spent part of his youth.

Wonderful experience if you enjoy the silence and the splendor of what Orewoet has to offer. Wonderful place to slow down, connect, rediscover the outdoor child in yourself and really feel welcome. This was real vacation.
The kids and I have been able to indulge ourselves here.
The place is so much fun to discover.

How was the contact with the host?
Fast, clear and very nice communication. We were immediately at ease. We could ask Yves and Liesbet a lot, but that was not necessary as they occasionally checked whether we were okay. Perfect combination of very involved and with respect for each other's own privacy.
We felt very welcome and were able to enjoy the splendor of their piece of paradise by tasting the delicious plums.
We really feel that their heart is in the Orewoet.

Enjoy because this is an exceptional place. Exactly what our holiday is.

Tips for new guests?
Enjoy this exceptional place where the simplicity of nature and life as a camper is the ultimate ingredient for a wonderful holiday.

What a beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The place itself, the wonderful outdoor kitchen (which we were very happy with, with the heavy rain), the surroundings. We will return soon!

It was a wonderful weekend, back to nature.
The reception was very hospitable. Only with the mobile home between the fruit trees. A fire pit was delivered. So that we could sit by the fire in the evening. The plumbing is a bit primitive but that didn't bother us.

Very nice place, not too far from home for us, to take some distance and slow down.

We stood in the large meadow with our bus opposite the donkeys, who regularly came to look curious.

The sauna barrel and the swimming pond were wonderful. We didn't need the outdoor kitchen, but it looked so inviting that we used it anyway.

There are several hiking nodes in the area, the route to Averbode Abbey is very nice.

We will definitely come back again.

How was the contact with the host?
Yves & Liesbeth received us warmly and were very hospitable and helpful. Besides the wonderful place, also nice hosts! Thank you.

At the end of July we camped with our sons at Orewoet. And it was fantastic! Lovely place, so peaceful and beautiful. The (very cosy!) covered kitchen/dining/seating area is a great asset when you are camping with two small children. The pond with boat is an extra that you won't find on every camping spot. Yves and Liesbeth are also very hospitable and friendly people who gladly made time to take our oldest son to pick tomatoes and berries. We are fans of Orewoet!

We had a fantastic time in Orewut. The camping pitches, in the orchard, are spacious and idyllic. There is a covered outdoor kitchen, BBQ, campfire place, badminton net, outdoor shower, dry toilet, (outdoor) toys... The pond is beautiful and wonderful for swimming, sailing with the boat.... There is peace and space . Adults and children can fully indulge themselves here.

How was the contact with the host?
Yves is a very friendly and attentive host, without wanting to be intrusive. He accompanied the walk with the donkey Ella, let the children pick berries, showed them where to gather wood... He likes to open up his paradise for others to enjoy. And if we did! Thank you very much, Yves and Liesbeth!

Super cool campspace at Yves! Normally we would come with the tent but due to bad weather forecast we decided to sleep in the car. Our 'reserved' camping pitch was not accessible by car, but Yves offered us another spot where this was fine! Everything was super neat. A nice outdoor kitchen (with all cooking materials available), clean dry toilet, simple but excellent outdoor shower, a sink, a sauna, ..
In case of problems or questions you could always knock on the door of the house!

How was the contact with the host?

Tips for new guests?
Tips for those who want to go; do not drag around with pots, pans, cutlery, cutting boards, glasses, ... because it is all present in the kitchen!

We loved this little peaceful campspace. It is tucked away, has everything you may need (and more - follow the advice to float about with the inflatables in the pond, it's very relaxing). We were very nicely welcomed and well taken care of, we could borrow bikes, which was a great way to discover the countryside around. We'd love to be back sometime :) thank you very much for everything!

Beautiful Campspace, where we have been received very hospitably. The first evening there was even a mountain of firewood ready for a small campfire, but also for the 2nd evening the garden/forest offered enough loose wood to end the day with a lovely fire. A compliment for the clean toilet is certainly in order here. In addition, the first evening we were already provided with good tips for hiking trips for the rest of the weekend. The Campspace is therefore in a beautiful area. But you don’t really need to leave the grounds for a wonderful day of relaxation, with a spacious pond for paddling or floating next door and a garden rich in birds and even a number of donkeys.
