Welcome to our relaxing garden hidden between the fields of Wakkerzeel, a picturesque village within the municipality of Haacht.
Did you know that Wakkerzeel was once nominated for the most beautiful village in Flanders?
Via the cobbled road you enter the lovely village center where the bakery, the cozy village café and the local wine shop provide the atmosphere. Otherwise, pop into the garden of the Pastoriewoning and discover more about composting and sustainable gardening.
Wakkerzeel is a crossroads of various walking and cycling routes: it is the ideal starting point to discover the region around Haacht and between Leuven & Mechelen. Did you know that 't GrootRoutepad 128 Vlaanderenroute runs past our garden? We are an ideal resting point during your trip!
Furthermore, our place is a stone's throw from Werchter (2.5 km), mainly known for the annual music festivals Rock Werchter, Werchter Classic and Werchter Boutique.
You can stay with us during these festivals and go to the meadow by bike (5 to 10 minutes) or on foot (30 minutes). This way you can fully enjoy the festival, but also a quiet night in the evening and a refreshing shower and clean toilet in the morning.
Would you rather soak up some culture? You are in Leuven or Mechelen in 15 to 20 minutes.
Prefer to look closer? How about a visit to one of our local breweries such as Hof ter Dormael in Tildonk and Primus Brewery in Haacht, a visit to the arboretum of Wespelaar or a workshop at De Onevenaar?
You can also dive into nature in the Haachts Broek nature reserve (10 minutes walking distance), or literally take a dip in 't Meer van Rotselaar (20 minutes by bike).
Finally, Wakkerzeel is also known as an artists' village, and you can follow the artists' walk in June. Recommended!
