Roundhouse in Natural Park
About this campspace #s002856

RobertThe Roundhouse is located at the foot of the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, near the medieval village of Castelo de Vide. The unique location of the wild camping site, on which the Roundhouse is located, and the surrounding area, makes the area a favorite place for walkers, cyclists, nature and culture lovers, bird watchers, artists and those seeking tranquility. You can relax wonderfully here. A hammock and table with two adjustable garden chairs are available.
The Roundhouse is a well insulated round stone cottage. The (limited) power is generated by a solar panel and the cottage can be heated by a wood stove on cold evenings. There is no WiFi available, but if you do want (portable) WiFi, we can provide this for you at an additional cost.
The cottage has a small double bed (1m20 by 1m90) with a thick mattress, dining table with 2 chairs, small kitchen with gas stove, wall unit, chairs with table by the wood stove and lighting. There is no running water in the Roundhouse. Hot and cold (drinking) water is available in the nearby sanitary building (about 50 meters walk from the Roundhouse). You have access to a simple, private shower room (with hot water) and a private toilet room. The sanitary room also has a small outdoor kitchen with sink, extra gas stove and refrigerator (40 litres). You can also take a seat at a picnic table under a bamboo canopy.
The Roundhouse is accessible by car. You can park your car at the Roundhouse.

Born and raised in the Netherlands where I still like to come, however Portugal stole my heart years ago. That is why I now live in Portugal with my partner. A generally wonderful, relaxed country with inhabitants who still really have time for and with each other. Patience is a virtue, but it will give you a much less stressful life.
