About this campspace

Wide view over the fields:

With us you stand with tent, camper and mobile home parking space on our beautiful rest yard with a wide view over the fields. We offer you an individual toilet and washbasin for your private use. There is also WiFi and electricity. You can reach the bakery, supermarket or the nearest restaurant in just 10 minutes by bike. With us you can take part in one of our handicraft workshops, the Klüter courses. You can find out whether a course is taking place during your stay on our homepage (#klüterkram). For late risers: The farm next door starts work early in the morning. So far, our guests have not been bothered by this.

Explore the area:

The next (free) bathing pond is in Hohenlockstedt. With the bike you are there in about 25 minutes. After the bathing fun, a visit to the Eisitaliener in the same place is worthwhile. Those who prefer to go to the outdoor pool (or indoor pool in winter) will find what they are looking for in the neighboring small town of Itzehoe. If you are enthusiastic about cycling or hiking tours, you will find what you are looking for in the small Ottenbüttler forest "Halloh" or drive/hike a little further to the beautiful Stormsteich. Other excursion destinations by bike include the renatured clay pit Muldsberg, the old inland lock in Kasenort (with cafe) or the nature reserve inland dunes Nordoe with the adjacent Deckmann'schen Kuhlen.
Popular destinations for trips by car are the North or Baltic Seas or the Kiel Canal. Animal lovers will get their money's worth in the Eekholt wildlife park, in the Friedrichskoog seal sanctuary or in the Hagenbeck zoo in Hamburg.

We look forward to you.

I, Michael, work as an electrician and in 2013, together with my wife Sarah, who works as a bank clerk, I fulfilled my dream of owning a farm. Since then it has been constantly renovated and rebuilt. In addition, since winter 2019 we have been offering the cultivation courses on our hall.

Tips

  • beautiful, wide view over the fields

  • great playground in town

Very nice and uncomplicated little place.
Very creative and clean toilets.

We felt very comfortable. If there is still space in the barn and you can build us a shower, we could stay a few days longer ;-)

Thanks to this short trip, we have now ordered our van ;-)

How was the contact with the host?
Very, very friendly, nice and helpful! Thanks for securing the tent while we were away!!

The cows in the neighboring meadow were also friendly.

Tips for new guests?
Take good pegs and a hammer with you, the ground is very hard, gravel and sand mixture, the standard pegs hold relatively poorly there. Screw pegs would be ideal.

We were very happy that you were there 🙋👍. The shower thing is at least being considered, but I can't say when that will happen yet. If so, then it has to fit the toilets 😅. You are welcome again at any time. I wish you many nice trips with your van 😉

Since the hosts weren't there when we arrived, I received a detailed description in advance of what to find and where. Contact was easy here and the hosts got in touch quickly.
The farm is in a quiet location, the neighboring LPG doesn't bother you. Cozy lighting runs across the courtyard, and there are also some seating areas with a table.
The bathroom facilities were particularly commendable. The bathrooms here have been equipped with great attention to detail and sophisticated technology. The next morning I was greeted warmly and we had a good chat. A few questions about the technical gadgets were also answered here. My dog was also very welcome here.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good. I was able to talk to both of them very well.
They were available to answer my questions.

We would be received very nicely. Remarkable were clearly the toilet facilities, which were lovingly and creatively handcrafted, as well as equipped with a few small finesse. Very nice. We will come back for sure. The farm itself is very idyllic.

How was the contact with the host?
Very uncomplicated and very nice hosts.

A funny place! Nice view and the bathroom was full of surprising details. A sink on an upside-down piano; you just have to make it up!🎶

How was the contact with the host?
We were warmly welcomed and shown around by Sarah and Michael.
The email contact was smooth.

Tips for new guests?
We were only there one night, but the place is a nice base for exploring the area, not far from the Elbefähre.

PS: Just so that other interested parties are not confused: the two photos with the awning were not taken by us. Must have slipped in 😄

Unfortunately, we were only passing through, so we arrived in the evening and had to leave again in the morning.
We were warmly welcomed by Michael and Sarah. The courtyard is decorated with great attention to detail. The highlight are the sanitary facilities with their steam-punk/industrial/vintage look, impeccably clean!
Absolutely recommendable, gladly again!

How was the contact with the host?
Everything as it should be, warm and nice hosts.

After some searching we found the spot behind the farm of Sarah and Michael. It was quiet and the children could play safely. They loved it between the pastures of the horses and the cows. There was power for our mobile home and the toilets were very clean. We didn't need more for a relaxing night.

How was the contact with the host?
They were very friendly and came a few times to ask if everything was okay and if we needed anything.

It was a super nice short break in Ottenbüttel. The pictures are a bit deceptive - you are already close to the farm and not so much "in the fields" as it seems in some pictures. In the text it was also described as such and in fact the place is still super quiet and comfortable. The hosts are super friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome. The toilets are really super nice and always clean and tidy.

How was the contact with the host?
Contact was via the Campspace platform and was always quick and friendly. If you want to get in touch without having already booked, you will find what you are looking for by googling Klueterkram - maybe you can combine camping with a workshop :-)

Tips for new guests?
enjoy

PS: The towel rails in the toilets were installed immediately 🥳😅. Thanks again for your note.

Excellent experience, lovely walks close by through the farm land, which was really nice for my dog. Nicely located close to the highway, but still 100% countryside feel. The highlight is definitely the absolutely amazing toilet facility, there's a surprise in every corner!

How was the contact with the host?
Michael and Sarah are very kind and accommodating, we were able to stay even though they weren't there for our arrival. We immediately felt home between the cows and horses!

Lovely quiet place to stay for a few days. In the background sounds of farms and a road, not disturbing to me. You have access to your own toilet and sink. Both very clean and nicely laid out

How was the contact with the host?
Michael and his wife are super friendly and regularly inquire if everything is still to your liking. They are also always available for questions.

Tips for new guests?
Bring the right pegs with you if you come with a tent, the ground is hard.

Hey Ariane,
we hope that you arrived in the Netherlands safely and without traffic jams. Thank you for your honest review. It's great that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately, we cannot change anything about the noises that sometimes occur. Of course, we are also happy to help with fastening the tents :). Great to have met you. We wish you a restful vacation. Kind regards Sarah and Michael
