About this campspace #s004764
Simple rural campsite set in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds
A 30-minute drive to Skegness; 45 minutes to Fantasy Island
Peaceful pitches on a working farm; free firepits to borrow
Tucked into secluded fields in the spectacular Lincolnshire Wolds, no-frills Oxcombe Campsite is a dog-friendly spot and haven for outdoor-loving families. It’s on a working farm with grazing cattle in surrounding fields, so while your dogs are welcome, please keep them under control.
This is a simple site with peaceful rural views over All Saints Church in Oxcombe – and yet it’s also close to handy things like farm shops, a decent-sized supermarket in Horncastle, and plenty of pubs within a five-minute drive. It’s a short car journey to Skegness if you fancy a night out, and there are adventure parks, stately mansions and golf courses close by too – in short, plenty to keep all the family entertained.
If you’re keen to get and about in nature, you’re also in the right spot. Cyclists and walkers, follow a bridle path from the farm and jump on the challenging Viking Way, while there are easier strolls along Lincoln-Washingbrough Tow Path. You can also get out in the bracing sea air and play hide-and-seek with the kids among sand dunes at Moggs Eye and Gibraltar Point beaches.
Once back at base, you could learn to throw pots at Oxcombe Pottery. Otherwise, the handful of facilities at this simple rural site include showers and loos in the toilet block, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer (detergent is provided). A small number of communal firepits are available to borrow free of charge and you can also buy sacks of logs (with kindling and firestarters) on site. Open fires are not permitted but you're welcome to bring gas stoves or disposable barbecues along.
