Welcome to the BoppeTike!
The Boppe Tike is the old name of this region/neighborhood that was once called that because it is situated somewhat higher (boppe = high, in Frisian). The surrounding lands were excavated for peat extraction at the time. The name immediately tells something about the cultural history of this beautiful area.
Our yard is located on the edge of De Tike, a small village tucked away on a cul-de-sac, in a rural setting in the scenic landscape of the Noardlike Fryske Wâlden national landscape.
It is a beautiful place in the center of Friesland, with lots of privacy, where you can enjoy a frog concert in the evening, count the stars on a clear night and where you will be awakened by the birds in the morning…
The site is just under a hectare in size and has several wonderful spots where you can set up your tent: do you opt for a spot by the fire pit, near the pond or a little less in the back, nicely hidden between the bushes?
In consultation you can light a fire yourself on the fireplace or take a refreshing dip in the pond.
If you don't have a tent with you or don't feel like setting it up, you can also spend the night in the tree house.
Or would you rather sleep in a nice bed? Then book the Droomdome!.
In addition, there is also a TinyHouse for rent and the completely renovated and insulated barn (see naturehouse.nl).
On the other side of the barn, a common room has been created with its own kitchenette with refrigerator, combi oven, coffee maker and kettle.
You will also find the toilet and shower (separate from each other) that you can use as a guest.
The village of De Tike has its own small harbor from where you can sail up to De Leijen with your canoe, sup or boat. You can also surf from the beaches around the lake.
In addition, it is an excellent base for beautiful cycling and walking tours to, for example, the National Parks "Drents-Friese Wold" and the "Alde Feanen" around Earnewâld.
People often think of Friesland as sailing in the lake area, but it has much more to offer: go on a journey of discovery and be surprised by the variety of nature with small picturesque villages and towns. A day trip to a Wadden island is also easy to do from here. You can sniff out culture in Leeuwarden (20 km) or Groningen (35 km), but also in Dokkum and Sneek (both 30 km from here).
Oh yes... what you can also do: spend a day relaxing in the beautiful wellness of Burgum (8 km).
Come and sleep a night and discover it all for yourself!
Wonderful place, centrally in Friesland, ideal base for walking and cycling enthusiasts. But you can also enjoy supping, canoeing and surfing on the lake.

Hi, Yka here from the BoppeTike.
Will you also pitch your tent with us or spend the night at a height in the tree house? If you prefer to sleep in a real bed, opt for a unique experience and spend the night in the Droomdome with panoramic roof and fall asleep under the starry sky.
Do you like a little more privacy? Then book our nature house: a tiny house with all the trimmings.
There is a (swimming) pond with a beach, a campfire place where you can light your own fire and a bad weather facility has been made in the barn: a communal indoor area with kitchen, sitting area and dining table. You also share the toilet and shower with the other guests.
Will we see you this summer? We welcome you wholeheartedly.
Go to a Wadden Island for a day. From here you are in Holwert in just over half an hour, where the boat departs for Ameland and Schier

I came for the break and that worked out well. I pitched my tent in a nice spot between the trees. It felt like I was deep in a forest but at the same time shower and toilet were very close.
How was the contact with the host?
Yka is super friendly and makes sure everything is going well. I forgot some stuff but I could use what was there. The last morning there was even something (homemade) delicious waiting for me :)
Tips for new guests?
It is recommended to come here. Not a massive campsite but nice and cozy. And if you don't want to stay in a tent, look at the nature house that is also here.

Stay in August 2022. DELICIOUS!! This was really enjoyable!! My 7 year old son and I as a mom had a heavenly time :-).
All necessary facilities available in the garden pavilion (shower, toilet, electricity, cooking on gas, kitchenette still under construction at the time of my stay).
The garden is beautiful and large, with many (hidden) corners, an oasis of peace.

Super pleasant hosts! THANK YOU Yka!!
Very friendly and welcoming.
My son - who fell in love with the dog - was very warmly welcomed!!

Who hasn't dreamed of sleeping in a tree house as a kid? At the Boppe Tike it's just possible. With a ladder (which is very well secured), climb up to the tree house. That is a special overnight stay! There are 3 mattresses and pillows in the tree house, so you only need to bring your own sleeping bag for an overnight stay at altitude.
But not only the tree house is special, in the garden, which is actually just a small forest, there is also a swimming pond with a beach. How cool is that?
In the yard of the host is a toilet block with a shower, a dining table, seating area and a kitchenette. When we were here, this was not completely finished, but the host provided us with a camping stove to be able to cook anyway. Its location on a dead end road makes it a very peaceful and quiet place.
The area has beautiful walking and cycling routes, a large lake a short walk away, and Drachten with all amenities nearby.
How was the contact with the host?
The contact with the host was very good, we were warmly welcomed and the host was easily accessible for questions.
Tips for new guests?
There is a lot to do in the area, but don't forget to discover the Alde Feanen by canoe. Furthermore, the woods in Beetsterzwaag with its old majestic trees are nearby and very beautiful.

A paradise! Sleeping in the tree house, making a fire with a wheelbarrow of wood that was immediately brought in, having breakfast on a small beach and immediately swimming in the large pond. Enjoying trees, mega garden/land around it, crossing hedgehog, enthusiastic and nice owners. Do nothing more 😀!

We enjoyed a lot in and around the tree house. What a wonderful and wonderful place to spend a mini holiday in your own country. Beautiful view from the tree house, past flying storks, after breakfast a dip in the swimming pond and good facilities - what more could the holidaying person want?
How was the contact with the host?
A very hospitable welcome and stay! We immediately felt at home, partly because of Yke and her husband.
Tips for new guests?
1 night is too little! For real! The camping site is very nice to stay, but the surroundings are also beautiful.

Fantastic experience to sleep in a tree house once. Great bed with nice balcony with two chairs. Plenty of room inside for your things. At the bottom of the tree house there are sheep (behind a fence.) And nature sounds all around you. Delicious
How was the contact with the host?
Yka is a great hostess. On arrival, at the time of stay and on farewell. She had baked a cake for her daughter's birthday and we also get a piece of cake. That's what I call a warm welcome.
Tips for new guests?
Kitchen is under construction, there is a two burner stove that you can use. Dishes and glasses are provided and items for washing dishes are provided. So you don't have to take that with you.
