About this campspace

Welcome to our Organic farm Mlečnik!

We kindly invite you to take a rest during your voyage on our big courtyard, in orchard or in vineyards.
Our farm is situated on a main road and is 4km away to the nearest highway exit on the A34(Italy) - H4 (Slovenia) highway.
You will find it right away because of a pretty large bamboo forest on either side of a big old house right beside the road, facing a large vineyard.

At our farm, it is possible to connect to electricity (220V or 380V) via extensions (yours or ours).

NEW! We have installed an outside solar shower!

As we live on organic farm, you can help us with our everyday work, or you can just take a tour of the farm and taste our organic wine (5€/person on site).

We will be delighted to have you here!

P.S.: Apparently also mosquitoes love organic farming, so please come prepared (nets on windows, repellents...)

I stayed here for two nights with a small campervan and really enjoyed the place. Facilities are practical and clean.

How was the contact with the host?
Klemen and his family are the most kind and welcoming people. You'll most likely run into them while they are working around the site and learn a thing or two about the environment and about wine making.

Tips for new guests?
Ofcourse you can do a wine tasting here and bring home some of your favorite wines. Oh and don't forget to cross the street and walk in between the vineyards, it's beautiful!

We had a wonderful experience at the farm of Klemen and his family. It was a true addition to our road trip through Slovenia. We stayed here for 4 nights and were sad to leave the farm. we would really recommend staying there for more than just one night, this way you can experience the farm and see how lovely the place is.

How was the contact with the host?
Klemen and his family were very welcoming! We had a lot of contact with them and they were able to give nice recommendations for our roadtrip and day trips in the area of the farm. Also, they make very delicious wine!!

Tips for new guests?
Mosquitos like the place as well ;)

We stayed 2 nights in the yard, it was really great, there is a nice, clean bathroom and an outdoor shower. Everything tip top and beautiful surroundings and a really nice courtyard. Not far from the Italian border, everything in the area is bilingual, restaurants and bars are not far and can be easily reached by car.

How was the contact with the host?
The two are super friendly and just great hosts, you can talk to everyone, even if it's not perfect English, it's enough to have conversations. Thanks for the hospitality <3

Amazing place to stay! We received a warm welcome from our host. It was great to talk to a local during our 2 week trip to Slovenia. We learned a lot about the wine making process and even enjoyed a wine tasting in the evening. Now we have a wonderful bottle of wine to remember our stay by! I would definitely recommend.

We had a very nice stay at Mlecnik. Their farm is located in a small village from which you can visit many nice places in the surrounding. Also Ljubljana is a 1 hour drive by car.

How was the contact with the host?
Thanks Klemen and family for the good care and nice tips for hiking, cycling and of course the tips for local restaurant, wineries and farms. It was very nice to have with you!

Tips for new guests?
If you like a very quit and peaceful place with not many tourists to spend your holidays and are comfortable with basic sanitary, go to Bukovica and stay at Organic Farm Mlecnik

We enjoyed our stay at Klemens farm. There was plenty of space to choose for our tent. We took a place close to the playground with which our children fell in love instantly. It's a quiet and relaxed area.

How was the contact with the host?
Klemen's family was very helpful and hospitable. Their children played sometimes with ours. He found time for a wine tasting of their vines which I appreciated very much.

Tips for new guests?
Think of enough mosquito repellent for the evenings.

Our stay with the Mlecnik family was super nice. Exactly the kind of place you hope to end up with via a platform like Campspace: A quiet, beautiful place with a very hospitable family that also makes insanely delicious wine.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact went very smoothly. The whole family speaks excellent English and is very helpful! Our 4.5-year-old daughter also played very nicely with Klemen's son and was allowed to use all his toys.

Tips for new guests?
Be sure to taste the delicious wine! Their Chardonnay is really amazing, one of the best Chardonnays I've had in a long time! And we also brought some bottles with us :-)

We can’t say enough good words about such a warm-hearted family. What an incredible experience which most likely will stay with us for a long time until we plan our return. In just two days, we’ve not only learnt extraordinarily much about wine making, but we’ve let our hearts sync with the family. Due to harvest time and being one of the busiest, each of them took precious time for us. That gave us the opportunity to observe more attentively their assiduous work and I must tell you, their hands rarely rested. They didn’t sell us a fairytale as some vineyards tend to, they showed us the REAL THING and THAT comes with decades and decades of experience, countless sacrifices, passion driven, but oh my, their wines are something else special and so flavorsome.

Additionally, the mansion and the yard harmonize wonderfully. We camped under the walnut tree, near the tomato garden. It was such a private spot, we didn’t hear the morning buzz coming from the family or the street. Later in the evening, we took a walk up the hill, where the vineyard sat quietly under the sky, facing the sun setting. It was really romantic and the grapes truly scrumptious.

Thank you, Klemen and the family for showing us an authentic Slovenia, where hope and kindness have no borders. Thank you for making us feel at home.

How was the contact with the host?
The ideal host, quick to respond, very thoughtful and friendly.

Tips for new guests?
We star gazed during the night and on full moon, the place looks eerie. If you are fortunate (we weren’t, but maybe next time), you might spot a deer or two.

We stayed 2 nights in the beautiful garden of the extremely friendly Mlečnik family. Our stay was wonderful and very educational. We felt much more than at home :-)

How was the contact with the host?
Hugely good. Friendly people, very helpful, spontaneous and jovial.

Tips for new guests?
Super tip after more than 45 mosquito bites: Be sure to bring mosquito repellent because the mosquitoes also like to stay overnight in the garden.

We had a very calm and nice stay at the farm on our way to Italy, that was the first contact.

Then a week later we came back and experienced more of what this place can offer, if you want to learn more about organic wine, you'll be in the right place. We've also had the chance to taste some of it, highly recommended.

How was the contact with the host?
Everything worked very well, communication was smooth over the phone with Klemen (we didn't have the chance to meet in person) and very pleasant in person, with Valter (Klemen's dad).

Tips for new guests?
Ask about the wine and the process, you can also buy a bottle, or more :)

We had such a lovely stay at the Mlečnik organic farm. On the day of the arrival we were met by the owners who showed us around and explained where everything was located at the farm. We we’re able to park our motorhome on their lawn right next to the playground area, which our kids absolutely loved too. They have a beautiful vineyard and the views are just stunning. We booked initially for one night but within an hour of being on site we booked an extra night, that’s how good it felt.

How was the contact with the host?
We had such lovely conversations, did a wine tasting, bought a couple of really nice wines to take home (not sure if they will make it to our destination;-). If we pass through Slovenia again we will definitely book some more time with this family.

Tips for new guests?
Book more then one night, although we didn’t really explore the area, it looked like great area to cycle. The kids had such a lovely time in the garden playing there and for us sitting there reading a book watch ing the kids play with those beautiful views was just so relaxing.

Worth every possible detour! Very warm welcome, very child-friendly, beautiful surroundings, the peace we were looking for. In addition, this is a family business that produces fantastic organic wine with an inspiring passion. We were allowed to ask as many questions as we wanted, super interesting. In short, highly recommended!

How was the contact with the host?
Pleasant and clear, host speaks very good English and the whole family was very helpful.

Tips for new guests?
Be sure to ask about the special production process of the wine that is made here, we learned a lot!

If you are not careful you will pass this special place in no time. But if you look around you, you see so many vines that you have to be in the right place.
On this organic farm located on a hill, vines stand as far as the eye can see. You are free to walk around and the family will be happy to tell you more about the wine and the whole wine-making process.
You can also help out on the farm. I arrived on the day of harvest and with scissors in my hand I was told what to do and in no time I was cutting grapes and filling crates full of grapes in the sun.
The campspace has electricity and a toilet. The facilities are simple but clean. A shower is not available.
The only downside to this place are the mosquitoes. There are almost as many as there are grapes. So take everything with you to get rid of them and wear long clothes despite it being warm.
