Our stay at the old bald valley farm was nothing short of fantastic! Just after arrival, Ghislain came to say hello with his miniature horse Sofietje, shortly afterwards we were given a wonderful tour of his domain. From the fields with beautiful views to his multifunctional barn with homemade furniture, Ghislain's domain is a true gem full of surprises. At the end we could enjoy his tasty kiwi berry and raspberry liqueur. The night was very quiet, no cars to be heard in the vicinity (which is unique these days). We will definitely come back!
How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Ghislain (the farmer) was perfect! We had a very pleasant time with Ghislain and he helped us where necessary (we even got two bicycles from him for a ride). Ghislain himself attaches great importance to personal contact with his guests and likes to talk about the history of his farm.
Tips for new guests?
- Bring good walking shoes! You can take a beautiful walk in the valley!
- During the summer months, the summer bar is open where you can enjoy a pint at the campsite.
- No breakfast provided? Enjoy breakfast in the village and enjoy a transport on Ghislain's covered wagon through the fields.
