About this campspace #s004327

Your host

Robert

Our beautiful biodiverse forest garden is located on the edge of the Loonse- en Drunense Duinen National Park. In the garden we also have three places for visitors, for your own tent or van or our furnished tent. In the garden there is a play castle and a sandbox. Children and pets are welcome. From the garden you can walk straight into the forest, watch birds, spot deer, discover badger tracks. In ten minutes you are in the hamlet of Giersbergen and the Drie Linden pub. Mountain bikes and day tickets can be rented there. Natuurmonumenten has set out numerous short and long walking routes along forest, heath, meadow and drifting sand. You will find plenty of bathing water in the region: swimming pools and natural pools. For sports enthusiasts, there is a climbing forest, tennis court, miniature golf and a riding school within cycling distance. Of course Den Bosch and Tilburg with their culture and evening life are worth a visit.

Seating for your own tent or van is done according to the circumstances.

Nb.
There is solar energy to charge your phone.
The hand pump provides cool groundwater. If you don't like the iron bar for your coffee and tea, bring your own water.
The shower is a pan shower. A bucket with water that you heat yourself and a saucepan.
Visitors dispose of their own residual waste.

You can pick wild in the garden and surroundings. (β˜˜οΈπŸ€ Ground elder, for example, is great for stir-frying with onion and garlic.)
Organic waste can go with the compost. 😊
The fact that guests have to dispose of their own residual waste contributes to awareness about waste. (NB. Flattening cans and drinking bowls is smart then πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š)
Within a radius of one km you can buy fruit and vegetables from a vegetable garden, goat cheese and beef from the organic farmer on Saturdays.
Our walnuts and hazelnuts are harvested by the squirrels. No hidden slave labor, they get to keep the nuts. πŸ˜†πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

It is always nice to be here on the land. I've been coming there for almost 60 years and would like to share it with others.

Unfortunately we were only visiting Ecobobo for one night. Too short because it is a fantastically wonderful place where you could easily stay for a week.
The site is spacious and sheltered and surrounded by greenery.
Casual, relaxed and miles of marked walks start literally 50 steps from your RV or tent. What a hidden treasure!

How was the contact with the host?
We were welcomed with a tour and explanation of the beautiful grounds.
Recorded a nice podcast together in the afternoon and in the evening sat by a wood fire in the garden. The love and involvement for the place and nature are just striking. Very inspiring!

Tips for new guests?
Look for one of the many beautiful spots in the garden towards dusk and sit down. Maybe bring a blanket and a cup of tea and watch and listen carefully to what is happening around you. We were lucky with woodpeckers, deer and an owl.

It was a beautiful evening with you. You were for us the changing factor in a wealth that is there every day and night. With us there is always weather, nature, temperature and almost always fire.

Beautifully decorated, varied terrain with beautiful hidden spots and paths and beautiful plants. Equipped with almost all basic amenities, but in an alternative way. Water from its own pump, warm β€œshower” with water heated up in a pan and a saucepan. Charging the telephone and power bank with self-generated electricity from our own solar panels or, if necessary, a generator. An old toilet, to be flushed with a bucket of water. Lighting on the site by (tea) lights that are lit by the manager every evening.
The site borders directly on the Loonse en Drunense Duinen nature park, for beautiful walks.
Unfortunately, mosquitoes don't leave us untouched here either, but that's nature too.
All in all a beautiful camping spot with all the amenities you could wish for; highly recommended!

How was the contact with the host?
Fine. In the absence of the manager, Paul took over the management.
He showed us around extensively and then charged our phones and power bank.
Had a nice evening with Paul at the campfire.

Tips for new guests?
Beware of mosquitoes.

Dear Alfred. Thank you for your positive review. You're always welcome. Outside mosquito time. Say October to May approximately. Campfire also keeps the critters at bay. Regards Robert

How was the contact with the host?
Super! Paul was erg open, gastvrij en toegankelijk. Heel erg bedankt!

Very nice and good experience. We were there with a campervan and a medium sized tent and there was space enough, picknick table for breakfast in the morning, fireplace to grill in evenings. Beautiful garden, also a party tent to sit under if it would rain. Clean toilet/bathroom for use. All and all, definitely recommended!!

How was the contact with the host?
Annette showed us around on the site, welcoming, also very nice to hear her story in the garden, it's plants, passion for nature!

What a beautiful green place - here you really have that into the wild feeling. Many 'secret' corners, seating areas and a colorful garden. Nice contact with other campers, but also plenty of privacy if you want.

How was the contact with the host?
Fine! Annette responds quickly and we were warmly welcomed in the garden, after which we were immediately given a tour by Robert and were allowed to choose our own spot.

Tips for new guests?
Get up nice and early to take a walk through the woods. We didn't spot any wild animals, but it is the ideal environment for them.

We had a great time on this idyllic location. Waking up with the sound of birds in the middle of nature. Spotted quite a few birds on the terrain already. Plenty of walking and cycling options in the area.

How was the contact with the host?
Contact with the host was very pleasant. We had a lot of privacy, but also interesting conversations about the site and nature.

Tips for new guests?
Book a walk with Annette, she knows so much about the plants and trees. Very interesting! You can also visit the old fortified city "Heusden" which is within biking distance, or go for a swim in "De afgraving".

Communication before the trip was clear and timely. It was also very nice to be introduced to the campsite by Anette, who gave us a welcoming tour. It was a very nice start to a beautiful camping weekend. Lush garden space with nice tent spots. Many interesting plants and animals to enjoy. Peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a getaway! Hiking just off the campsite into the national park was great! Not too crowded despite being a lovely weekend!

Perfect, nice reception despite the heavy rain. Tour of the grounds and amenities. Annette and Robert are open to questions and are in for a nice chat, but also certainly give you privacy. It was a fantastic few days, the weather was lovely, but this site, located so directly on the beautiful nature reserve, is beautiful. We like the simplicity and the tranquility it has. We were 4 adults, a dog and 2 small children. The site is very child friendly. There is a sandbox and a playhouse with slide and a toy box with balls, etc., but the garden itself is also very nice and adventurous for the little ones. The managers also had an inflatable pool filled with water which brought extra fun and cooling not only for the children :). In addition, it is just wonderful that you can light your own campfire and we enjoyed the fires in the evening and cooking on the fire.

The surrounding national park is wonderful walking with the hiking nodes, running the mountain bike trail everything is there. but you can also enjoy nature on the site itself, we have seen a black woodpecker and enjoyed the morning concert of the birds. There are many wonderfully quiet places on the site where you can enjoy yourself.

The communication was good. We had a little trouble finding the entrance, but Annette picked up the phone immediately and helped us on our way. Amazing experience! Even though there are two other spots in the same area, it felt very secluded and private. The hosts are very helpful but also give you privacy. Theres a really nice spot to watch the sunset. Easy to go for walks in the national park. In the morning, the host took us on a walk and explained about the nature which was really fun but also informative. We have been walking around the nature park. There's also a cute restaurant at the beginning of the park. All in all, we had an amazing time and will definitely be going back. 100% would recommend.

You can walk straight into the nature reserve from the campspace. All in all a very nice place with a lot of atmosphere.

The perfect off-grid camp space, in the middle of nature! Without running water, which completes the feeling of being away from civilization. On arrival received super hospitable and shown around the site by Annette and Robert.

A lovely place to make a campfire every evening, enjoy the stars and wake up every morning to the chirping of the birds. The chance of spotting wildlife is quite high due to the perfect location on the Loonse and Drunense dunes. Both at dusk on the adjacent field and during a great mountain bike route along the sandy plains of one of the more beautiful National Parks in the Netherlands, we were lucky enough to spot various deer up close.

In addition to the extensive possible walks through the area (based on signposted routes and/or our own compiled hiking junction routes), we also made use of the tour by our hostess Annette, who knows a lot about, among other things, the National Park, the badger castle. right behind the camp space and the tracks of various other animals that live here, highly recommended.

After our mountain bike route, we also had the dubious honor of being the first guests to try out the USB shower in the brand new shower/toilet house. Where you yourself mix the cold water with the hot water from the gas burner in a bucket, where you place the immersion heater and then use the wonderful shower that functions super! A true experience in itself, and also good for the environment, this way saves a lot of water!

In short, a great stay!

A very nice place to stay. There are several Campspaces next to each other, but by planting you still have a separation. There is a fire bowl, you have to bring your own wood for this. Or when the large communal campfire is lit, you can join in the fun.
We went for a walk with Annette in the morning, that was super fun! Very nice walking area near your tent. And Annette has a lot of knowledge about the area and tells with a lot of passion.
It is also very interesting for wildlife enthusiasts. There is a lot of activities of badgers. Of course you have to be very lucky to see these in person, but we were lucky enough! Blessed :-). And if that wasn't enough, we were also spoiled with a fox while we were having our morning coffee. Annette said she'd never seen one around the Campspace before, so lucky!
We also went kayaking in the Biesbosch a little further up, this was a nice combination to do and if you have the time I would definitely recommend it.

We were so lucky that we stayed at Ecobobo with two lovely sunny days! We were very hospitably received by Annette and Robert. Annette talked with enthusiasm about their terrain and the plans they have for it. We were early in the season, but we could already spot the first flower buds. We can imagine that the garden will soon look beautiful! A lot of work and love is put into it, which is clearly visible.
We came with the camper and had a spacious place to ourselves, with picnic table, sun loungers and even a fire bowl. More than enough space to put the camper and relax yourself. Upon arrival, we immediately learned how to split wood to build our own campfire and sit around it in the evening. The name off-grid already indicates that you should not expect a luxury camping spot. Nevertheless, everything looks neat and everything has been thought of. We even heard that there is a new toilet house.
The place itself is secluded from the road and inhabited world, so you are really in the middle of nature. Exactly what we came for, this peace and beautiful nature! The site borders directly on a beautiful forest and drifting sand plain, through which you can walk or cycle endlessly. We went mountain biking for a while, very adventurous and a beautiful trail! In the morning Annette took us on a nature walk through the forest and the dunes, where she shared her knowledge about the area with us. Super fun to learn things from nature in addition to hiking. This way we can now recognize badger burrows and places where deer have slept! Highly recommended if you are staying here and want to know more about the area.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Waking up to birdsong and the chance to spot deer in the garden, what more could you want? In any case, we will come back again!

Very nice, spacious place on the edge of the Loonse en Drunense Duinen, you can walk straight into the forest. There are regular deer in the meadow opposite the campspace and the large garden itself is full of special trees, flowers and plants. The solid De Waard tent is fully furnished, with furniture, all necessary kitchen utensils including gas and basic sleeping mats. Tip: if you want to camp a little less rough, bring your own sleeping mats 😊. Host Robert and hostess Annette really do everything to make you feel at home (if you want to be left alone is also completely fine) and are super hospitable. Recommended!
