About this campspace

A quiet spot at Wildemansheerd Nature Campsite in the middle of the Groningen countryside. Near the super beautiful nature reserve 't Roegwold.

At our site you can stand all by yourself with a tent, but you can also come with a small camper or caravan (<5.5m). With a recreation barn where you can also cook, it is very suitable for walkers and cyclists. The club path in 't Roegwold is a "must" to see the sunset. By the way, the sunset is also great to see on our Nature Campsite. In the morning you wake up to a wonderful bird concert. We are a Natuurkampeerterrein, membership is mandatory. (The green booklet, membership) is for sale from us.

We have been living in this family place since 2011. De Wildemansheerd has been in the family since 1894 and it is a wonderful place for us and we like to let our guests enjoy it. Gardening is our passion and you will also find this in our place. So, as some guests say, you are in the middle of the garden.

Tips

  • 't Roegwold is a new nature reserve where many different species of birds can be spotted.

  • Appingedam is an old historic town only 12 km away.

As described, we found a beautifully lovingly designed place where we were able to enjoy the longed-for nature and pure tranquility! Everything was there that a camper's heart needs: clean sanitary facilities, tips for cycling trips and hikes in the area and always a very friendly and attentive hostess. The apple pie by the lake rounded off the experience! Always my pleasure!

A beautiful place, you are a guest in a botanical garden that immediately casts a spell over every nature lover. The many small huts offer the guest security, homemade jam, eggs, art illustrations, information, but also the necessary snacks. Everything to be paid for in self-service checkouts. The sanitary facilities are clean and simple. Everything is plentiful. Detergent, toilet paper, soaps. You can feel Salome's love for the place and the guests in every corner. In the laundry room there are small vases with fresh flowers, tomatoes from the garden to take away ,Everything is quiet there and immediately absorbs you with all your senses. Time for silence, nature, immerse yourself in the world of trees, plants, birds. The loose distribution of the places gives the feeling of being free I will visit more often. My four-legged friend also felt very comfortable. Thank you Salome for this wonderful place.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good, she can be reached at any time by ringing the bell. Communication is only in Dutch or English

Fantastic place where attention is paid to details with a lot of love. The beautiful flowers and butterfly garden, the fresh apple pie, the clean toilet areas. Wonderful quiet place. A must to do nothing at all and read a book and enjoy the sunset.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good. We were accidentally a day early and that was taken care of perfectly.

Tips for new guests?
Do not expect too much entertainment in the area, but if you come for the peace and quiet and the beautiful nature then you are in the right place.

At this nature vamping we immediately felt at home. We are at Salome, not at the campsite. Everything feels like its own very near a ruin of a Groningen farm. By the way, that ruin is beautifully decorated where young and old can hide from the heat or the rain. The real silence, without the noise of a car road or pouring trucks on a short road, we found, ma long search, here. A day trip to the phenomenal Wadden Islands without cars is doable from this place. But a day in the yard, and a walk through the overgrown stable or the private grove next to the farm is also delightful. Salome is an artist with an eye for detail I haven't met her myself, but I got to know her anyway, because of the way she decorates her yard for our guests,

How was the contact with the host?
Fine, Hans did the honors

Nice, small place, you are sheltered from the wind under fruit trees. Lovingly decorated sanitary facilities with a view of the budgerigar aviary. Great "Cottage Core" garden, every evening the operator lit lanterns.

How was the contact with the host?
Friendly contact in English, place probably mostly visited by Dutch people.

Awesome!!!
What a place!
What a hospitality!
What confidence!
Lots of nice corners and seats with plants and a candle in the evening.
A greenhouse with raspberries and tomatoes to pick. And if you have green fingers you are more than welcome to lend a helping hand.
Excellent sanitary facilities.
A large space, pleasantly messy, to relax (including table tennis) and to cook.
Terrace by the pond where there is a house where you can grab a drink and a drink. Apple pie. Oranges to squeeze. A box in which you can put the money you owe.
It is quiet and the campers follow the rules!
In short, a place to long to return!

How was the contact with the host?
Very nice, clear and casual

Tips for new guests?
To go!!!!
