About this campspace

Welcome to our mini campsite at 800 m from the Markermeer. Originally, this was an organic market garden with a nature campsite in the West Frisian village of Venhuizen, near the IJsselmeer dike between Hoorn and Enkhuizen. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, we have no harvest this year and the market garden has gone wild. Still, it remains a nice place where you can do whatever you want.

At our mini campsite you can pitch your tent, caravan or motorhome on one of the spacious pitches, in peace and quiet and surrounded by greenery. No own camping equipment? No problem, there are various accommodations for rent, such as a retro caravan with an unobstructed view.

There are various play equipment for children, such as a playhouse, trampolines, slides, sandpit and various go-karts and tractors. Many chickens and roosters live on the market garden, but also two pigs, cats (to snuggle with), dogs and of course many types of birds and insects. Please note that the sanitary building is a short walk away.

We strive for biodynamic horticulture based on strengthening natural growth with attention to soil fertility and diversity in crop cultivation. We see nature as a connected whole, in which the influence of climate, soil fertility, water pollution, biodiversity and air quality, among other things, is a determining factor. That also means that it is not a 'tight and tidy' campsite. The grass is uneven, which may make it difficult if you have difficulty walking. The garden is overgrown and weeds and weeds grow consciously for optimal soil fertility and biodiversity. The roughness is a place for special plants and insects. We are happy to tell you more about biodynamic horticulture.

Environment
Enjoy the tranquility, between the greenery, agriculture and the wide view. Our campsite is located 800 m from the Markermeer, with two beaches. The depth of the water is about 1 meter up to several hundred meters, which is ideal for children, and the water temperature is just a few degrees more.

Of course, the area is perfect for walking and cycling along the dike and through the beautiful polder landscape. We are located directly on the popular LF cycling and walking route; the Zuiderzee route.

6 km away is the historic town of Enkhuizen with, among other things, the Zuiderzee Museum, Sprookjeswonderland, playground 'Kindervreugd' and the ferry to Stavoren and Urk. VOC city of Hoorn is 11 km away and Medemblik is 18 km away.
Various shops can be found in both Venhuizen and Bovenkarspel, both within 3 km of the TuinGoed.
There is also a nice outdoor swimming pool in Venhuizen/Hem: 't Hemmerven and bicycle rental Rijwielhuis Hem.

We had some wonderful and relaxing days on this lovely and super green campspace. We stayed in the Pipowagen and it was perfect for us.
We were very happy that we got visited by cats (to cuddle) and chickens everyday and sometimes a dog ;) you have warm and clean showers, a place to cook (by the Pipowagen), and a wonderful & wild surrounding with fruits from the garden. Also the ecological aspect of the place is very interesting!

The field where you can choose a spot yourself is beautiful and fun. The rest looks very unkempt. The greenhouses are overgrown, the construction plastic is torn, old caravans that seem to have been uninhabited for years (because they are green from the attack). The place is nice size but smelled like chicken shit. The rooster walked past all day clucking and as soon as you ate something in front of you became pretty annoying. The distance to toilets was a bit far and to get water certainly too far. The showers were under construction and functioned poorly or not, the toilet seats were all loose, the little weather sliders didn't open and close properly. In short, just bad. It was well cleaned!! The waste was piled high and you couldn't do anything but throw it in, so there was no question of separating. Everything looked messy and just not finished. A shame for such a beautiful spot between Hoorn and Enkhuizen.
