Welcome to the nature campsite in the Thuringian Forest
My small but fine pitch for a few mobile homes, caravans or tents is located in the middle of the Thuringian Forest on the outskirts of the village of Mosbach, just 10 km from the Wartburg town of Eisenach. Power connection and well-kept sanitary facilities with toilet, drinking water and warm shower provide the necessary comfort. During GDR times, the Mosbach holiday home was a children's holiday home run by a company near Berlin from 1974 to 1989; VEB Kim Storkow. Since 2004 I have been offering group accommodation, self-catering houses, room and hiker's huts for rent in the heart of Germany.
Camping in the Thuringian Forest - what there is to discover:
The Mosbach forest swimming pool is less than 300 meters from your pitch and provides cool refreshment in summer. You can enjoy excellent culinary delights in the Gasthaus Am Waldbad with beer garden at our neighbors. The Thuringian Forest with its gentle mountain landscape, coniferous and mixed forests invites you to a challenging active holiday, hiking and exploring. There is a wealth of cultural treasures to discover in the Wartburg cultural region.

We camped for a week with the tent at this nostalgic and quiet location.
Unfortunately we had bad weather but there is plenty to see, do and experience in the area for every age. There is an opportunity to cook indoors at the location.
Enough toilets and showers (very clean) available. It does have a shower room here.... a large room with 6 shower heads without cubicles or partition. This room can be locked! All in all a wonderful, quiet and beautiful location. Especially if you are passing through or groups.
How was the contact with the host?
Saul is a spontaneous and friendly host who proudly shows his domain upon introduction. He also tells about the origin of the location.
You have to be with him about the area and what there is to see and experience. He knows it all. It's all very pleasant. There is a small drink with a terrace where you can get coffee, soda or an ice cream without having to pay right away, you just write what you have taken on a note and Saul is confident that you will pay the bill on departure. His two sweet dogs hardly leave his side. Unless you have thrown a ball, they will come and visit you every now and then.
Because there would be 1 night with our stay with heavy rain, cold and thunder, Saul even offered us a night in a room. We did not make use of this, but we are convinced that Saul would not even have taken this into account.

Don't expect luxury. What you do get is authentic, warm, friendly and free!

Had a very nice stay. In peace for those looking for it. Lots of greenery and all necessary amenities. These are simple but all in tip-top order and clean. So what more could you want.
How was the contact with the host?
Friendly and helpful welcome.
Dutch and also two treasures of dogs.
Tips for new guests?
For the tent campers, a large 4 person tent is about the max of what the place can take. Perhaps less suitable for large 6-person family tents. But for those looking for peace under that size great stay.
We had a CEE camping plug with us, but it turned out to be unnecessary. An ordinary sturdy reel and/or extension cable will suffice.
For those who come without a tent, the houses and rooms also looked neat.
Enjoy all the nature the area has to offer. There is so much beauty to be found that you hardly know where to start.

If you want to relax, this is the perfect location. There is plenty of space to sit down and enjoy the surroundings. The sanitary facilities and accommodations are spacious and clean. There are many fun activities to do. All about 15-30 minutes from the campspace. The wild cat village and the bird of prey park are highly recommended. You can always take a walk in the woods. The atmosphere here is relaxed, friendly and open. Several BBQs are available on site. You can light a fire in the car rim. The building is decorated with vintage German posters, posters and signs from the time when Germany was still divided into West and East. This is to preserve the authenticity of the building as much as possible. Saul has built a beautiful place here. The night's sleep is also respected here.
How was the contact with the host?
Saul is a down-to-earth and very kind man. He shows you where you can find everything upon arrival. If you have a question, he will help you immediately. He is also always up for a chat about various topics. In my opinion he is a perfect host. His 2 Golden Retrievers are darlings of dogs.
Tips for new guests?
View the brochures at the entrance. Many excursions are possible. Be sure to eat in the beer court about a hundred meters from your accommodation. The food is tasty and not too expensive. The schnitzels are really big :)

Saul has created a really nice place with his farm in the Thuringian Forest. With a camper or van you can stand on one of the flat surfaces in the courtyard, and in bad weather Saul even makes his cozy lounges available as a retreat. Not too far away is a beautiful forest swimming pool with adjacent restaurants.
How was the contact with the host?
Saul gave us a warm welcome and showed us around. He also showed us the sanitary facilities, which were very clean. You can have a great chat with him and chat about camping. Thank you for the nice stay.

Hello Mike, thank you very much for your positive review.
And above all the beautiful pictures you took. Despite rainy weather. Thank you for your efforts.

We award four stars because the operator Mr. Saul is very nice and honest. For our bus (5m) the place was absolutely unsuitable, who would like to stand diagonally and in the immediate vicinity of the concrete slab with a communal grill. Construction of our awning impossible due to lack of space. We got our money back from the operator of the place, minus the expenses that the operator and we incurred. We found that very decent, would only recommend the site for tents.
How was the contact with the host?
very good
Tips for new guests?
Not recommended with a mobile home, there is simply not enough space.
