About this campspace

Camping in the heart of the Rhein-Westerwald Nature Park

The property is located in what used to be a holiday home area, but this is also where many people now have their primary residence. Quietly located between a cul-de-sac and a creek, our meadow site is suitable for both tents and mobile homes. Children are very, very welcome! You can, should and may live, we do it here too! Four-legged friends are also welcome guests.

Activities in the Middle Rhine region

Our campspace is located in the middle of the Rhein-Westerwald nature park and is therefore a wonderful starting point for hikes and bike tours in the area. Nature lovers will get their money's worth here.

The picturesque town of Linz am Rhein, with its colorful half-timbered buildings and winding streets, is only a stone's throw away. Tours along the Rhine are also very popular with hikers and cyclists. The Rheinsteig or the circular tour on the Linzer LZ circular hiking trails are highly recommended. The Rhine Cycle Path is an absolute must for all cyclists. The spa town, 15 km away, and the view of the vineyards are also worth a visit.

Hi Janine, thank you for your review. It's a pity that you didn't have so much of our beautiful valley, but maybe you'll come back sometime. Always have a safe trip and many beautiful experiences.

Frantz is a very good host. The camping park is very special and located along a very quiet road where you most often see people walking their dogs. The Brochenbach, a magnificent stream, runs across the grounds.
There is no form of sanitary facilities, not even a disposal point for a chemical toilet, so in that respect you are entirely on your own.
Despite that, we highly recommend this place, especially if you are in favor of a green environment. There is a nice but small circular walk on site (1.5 km). We have mainly used the cycling opportunities around Linz am Rhein.

How was the contact with the host?
Great guy, very helpful and not difficult at all. Very good contact and good tourist tips.

Tips for new guests?
No sanitary facilities available. In the village of Sankt Katharinen at 2 km you can get most things and the bakery is open no less than 7 days a week.

At the last minute we had booked with Frantz for 1 week. We got a nice place in the back of the garden with lots of privacy and with a nice babbling brook. There is some basic sanitary facilities and he is busy making a guest house. Big plus: the fridge with chilled beer and in which you can also store something. And of course the beautiful surroundings, which are directly accessible from the tent!

How was the contact with the host?
Good. He was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late without having eaten in the evening. He immediately offered a plate of pasta and we could borrow his flashlight.

Tips for new guests?
Definitely go here! Nice and quiet here. And when you're there, a visit to the Ahr (tributary of the Rhine) is definitely worth it :)

A lovely place in a beautiful setting. The place is on the road, but that is not a problem, because there is virtually no traffic. We were here with children of 3 and 1.5 years old and they enjoyed it.

How was the contact with the host?
The host is very nice. We had good contact. He made sure we had water on the spot and we were even allowed to use a toilet in his holiday home that was still under construction. So that was great! He also gave tips for nice walks etc. in the area.

The host, Frantz, was very welcoming. I could choose between 2 spots and they were both nice and flat. Even offered me a spot to park my motorcycle under a roof because it might rain. I asked for a place I can get breakfast and he told me where I can find a bakery. 10/10 host!

How was the contact with the host?
Very good, he welcomed me and showed me where to tent up. Very nice guy.

Tips for new guests?
Read the instructions on how to get there very well, I thought I got them right but I didn't hahaha, the host came and got me though.

Friendly welcome. Place on the property of a house in a small hamlet. View of barns and outbuildings, against the mountain. From a lawn of about 50m2 you walk down a nice path along the stream.
Water and electricity available.
Special location along a stream at the end of a mountain road.

How was the contact with the host?
Friendly and willing to chat, explanation and tips.

Tips for new guests?
Do not expect too much from it, the view from the camping site to the mountain is beautiful, but then you will first see the outbuildings / barns, etc.
