The mini camping site is located behind a former Schoonoord post office. An attractive building from 1904 with a view at the front of the calm water of the Oranjekanaal and a panoramic view of the countryside at the rear.


Campers who want to visit the giant village of Schoonoord can visit our mini camping site with a tent or in one of our chalets. This is located on the spacious field behind the building and has its own facilities.

You can enjoy hiking and cycling in the vicinity of the campsite. The village is around the corner and includes a supermarket, bakery and butcher and various snack bars, pizzerias, Chinese and eateries. Larger towns such as Emmen, Assen and Coevorden are 20 to 30 minutes away by car.
The camping field is accessible by car and smaller campers, however, only on arrival and departure. Cars can be parked in the parking lot.

The campspace in Schoonoord is a very comfortable camping. There is enough space for everyone, but it is also quiet and peaceful. The family is really taking time for you to make you feel welcome. At night when everyone is sleeping, it is really quiet. No highways in the surroundings. Only maybe a farmer that has to start working early on his field in the morning. But then the birds are also started to sing for you. Schoonoord is a nice small town with enough places to go out for dinner or get a take away meal. But you can also find enough shops to buy fresh groceries to cook your own meal. And beside eating or staying at the camping, there are a lot of activities to do in the surrounding. I went to the hunebed close to the camping and take a small walk in the forest. And I took a visit to Camp Westerbork and the Observatory that is only 30 minutes away.

We had a VERY lovely stay at tante Bob en de rakkertjes! The host was friendly and helpful. The location was great, supermarket etc were nearby and the sanitary area was as clean as it gets! VERY good place to take Children with because they had a lot of things to play with! We would definitely recommend it!
