Your host, Monique en Branko

Bonjour! We are Monique and Branko. We bought our house in Rumigny (French Ardennes) in 2013. The first few years we have been busy refurbishing the house and the grounds and since 2017 we have been running our small-scale chambre d'hôtes and mini-camping. In the beginning we combined that with our jobs (in healthcare and education respectively) in the Netherlands, but by the end of 2021 we have completely emigrated. We now live in nature every day and love to receive guests (with dogs…) and let them enjoy it. A bientôt et salut!

Tips

  • Put on your hiking boots and enjoy the untouched nature.

  • In the evening, join us at our table d'hôtes. Please submit in the morning.

  • In the summer there are regular flea markets on weekends.

  • In a radius of about 10 km there are a number of restaurants.

Very cozy campsite where dogs are allowed to roam freely, and they do! Our dog had the time of her life :). And we had a great time, nice place in the shade. Enjoyed the table d'hotes one evening: it was delicious and cozy. We have already made several friends aware of this beautifully situated campsite. Thank you!

How was the contact with the host?
Excellent: warm welcome and goodbye again. Very attentive.

We really enjoyed our week at your campsite.
Marie really enjoyed being able to run loose and play with the other dogs and get dirty in the stream.
On the last evening we enjoyed a delicious dinner.

It was a super pleasant holiday.

How was the contact with the host?
They were very pleasant people. If we needed anything they were always ready.

It's great that you do those meals. This way you get to know the people at the campsite and you still get a completely different atmosphere than at another campsite.

Monique and Branko are super sweet people who welcome you with open arms to the mini campsite with their dogs Meda and Thor. When it's quiet you can choose where you want to stay, we were with the tent and were able to get a perfect spot. Our dog has been able to scratch around and play with the other dogs!
In the morning you can get a nice breakfast from the bakery. And in the evening possibly dinner (we did not do this ourselves, but we have heard a lot of good things about it)
All in all a very nice, calm environment. Pleasant evenings with good wine and a lovely atmosphere.
We will definitely come back here to relax again because that's what the area really does!

How was the contact with the host?
Fast responses and very friendly.

Tips for new guests?
In the evening indicate that you want breakfast, especially the croissants and chocolate sandwiches were very tasty and fresh! Saves yourself a trip to the bakery and doesn't cost much!

Scout Diana About the scout program

Tell us about your experience
A place in the French landscapes where friendliness and hospitality are paramount. Branko and Monique received us at the entrance and we were given the opportunity to choose our favorite spot. Later we were allowed to join the dinner and we chatted for a long time. The nice thing about this overnight stay is that dogs are more than welcome here and you see that everywhere.
