About this campspace

De Kaag is an island located in the Haarlemmermeer. De Kaag can be reached (24/7) by ferry.
Our farm campsite is located at the end of the Kaag, where there is no longer a through road and where the peace and simplicity come to mind.

We have been renting out 2 safari tents with a communal sanitary tent since 2021.
The safari tents are fully equipped. They have a spacious lounge sofa, both outside and inside, dining table, both outside and inside. 4 fixed beds (1 x double bed and 1 bunk bed) per safari tent for comfortable and luxurious camping. Even in the autumn it is nice to stay in the safari tent, thanks to a nice good heater. The safari tents both have a kitchen with a refrigerator (+ freezer), crockery, (baking) pans, coffee maker, kettle. Bed linen, kitchen linen and 1 full tank for the stove are included.

The safari tents are located on and with a view of the Kagerplassen and Kagerpolder.
The safari tents can be rented for a minimum of 2 nights (weekend) and a maximum of 2 weeks.

The area is ideal for walking and cycling. It is possible to moor your boat with us (boat <6m. is 10 euros per day) and enjoy the water. There are several boat rental companies (motor and sailing boats, but also for canoes and sups) on the Kaag.
You can swim in the water of the Kagerplassen. Water shoes are recommended.
De Kaag is a half hour drive from cities such as Leiden, Haarlem, Amsterdam.

Cancellation Policy

Rules

Pets are not allowed in the Safari tents. However, on site, provided it is always on a leash. The farm campsite is a quiet, simple, small-scale campsite, so it is quiet after 10 pm.

Hey! I am Femke Vlugt, daughter of Odiel and Arjan Vlugt and together we have been renting out Safari tents at our mini Farm campsite on Kaag Island since 2020. Our farm campsite is at the very back of the Kaag.
The farm campsite has been around since 1948, my grandmother was already keeping up with the campsite. Now it still has the nature-oriented, simple and quiet appearance, but with the luxury of the furnished safari tents and sanitary tent.

  • Rent and a sup or sailing boat and explore the Kagerplassen

  • Sit comfortably on the veranda of the Safari tent and enjoy the tranquility, the view, the meadow birds, the cows and the house cat Marie-Claire.

What a nice place this is! On the water, spacious place and very friendly people. The tent was very good, the kitchen well equipped and the beds are wonderful. The sanitary tent is clean and with a nice shower. We enjoyed this place and would like to come back again for sailing or supping. Also very nice that you can look into the cowshed, highlight for our son.
