Good morning! We are lucky Stéphan, Sacha our son and I to live in this magnificent region that is La Calestienne. Our property is located on a high plateau and on one hectare of forest and limestone meadow. We can therefore share our space as well as offer you ideas for walks, with geological and naturalist knowledge. During the summer season, we open a terrace where you can cool off and discover excellent local beers. The garden is attached to the "Ateliers Gerny", B&B and creative spaces. If you want to follow the news of the place, do not hesitate to visit the FB page.

Very nice place, was very quiet! The shared space was large and equipped with toilet and sink. There were plenty of seats outside and there was a place to make a campfire. You could also buy a drink if you wanted. From the campsite it was a half hour drive to Durbuy and Dinant so that was easy to do. The village of marche en famenne is close by and you can get a bite to eat in the evening on a terrace (or go by car).
Unfortunately the ground was too hard/had too many stones to get pegs in, the only other campers experienced this problem too. Fortunately the weather was nice so we were able to secure the flysheet with some stones. The owners were very friendly and were there for us all day long. In addition, there is also a nice cat who likes to say hello to you in the evening.

How was the contact with the host?
Super, clear and friendly!

Tips for new guests?
There is no shower, take into account sporting activities that you are going to do and where you can cool off afterwards! We went swimming at Ninglingspo, but much of the water there has dried up now.

Large camping spot for several campers. Clean toilet available, also a sink with hot water. Large interior space that you can use.

Lovely place, that a campfire is allowed is really great. Still, a shower would be very nice, even if it is slightly outside.

How was the contact with the host?
Good, quick response, friendly.

Tips for new guests?
Bring those wet washcloths ;)

A small campsite in a quiet location. Too bad there is no shower. It's nice after a long walk.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact was very pleasant and always up for a chat. Definitely a place to return to.

Tips for new guests?
The beers there, brewed locally, are delicious. In bad weather there is a large interior space.

How was the contact with the host?
Les hôtes sont très gentils et sociables. Le moment de boire un cafe avec eux et deux autres.

Tips for new guests?
C'est écrit qu'il n'y a pas de douche, ce qui n'est pas trop grave mais il me manquait quand-même une autre place un peu Privée pour me laver (je me suis lavée à l'évier du bar :D)...

Resting point during cycling trips in the Ardennes. Wonderfully calm and spacious place. Delicious beers in the fridge. Lovely visit to the caves of Han.

How was the contact with the host?
Nice and warm contact. Leatitia really took her time with me.

Tips for new guests?
In areas where several camping spots are possible, take others into account or at least communicate. The last night was a bit restless due to new campers. There is no administrator so you have to rely on your own communication skills.

Wonderful night camping! The field is on top of a hill and it was very bright, so we had a wonderful stargazing experience. It is very quiet and we slept very well because of that.
It's very basic; for example there is no shower. That was basically no problem for us.

How was the contact with the host?
Laetitia is around if you need her, and happy to help. The atmosphere is very relaxed and accessible.

Tips for new guests?
In the bar you can buy tasty local beers :)

We stayed there at the end of October and the weather was great. The place is very peaceful. We made very beautiful hikes in the surroundings half forests, half groves or fields.
The camp is well equipped with a toilet and a large indoor space with bar and table, handy in case of bad weather

How was the contact with the host?
Impeccable, Laeticia is super nice and gave us good information for walks.

Tips for new guests?
To try for nature lovers

The contact with the landlord was good. Friendly. It was a nice, quiet location. Located in the green. We paid 30€ and that's a lot for what you get. Taking water was possible but was not really the intention. Electricity was no problem. It was possible to leave waste behind, but was not really the intention. For €30 you can stay overnight in a 3-star campsite with all amenities. You are calmer and greener of course. But the meadow was also used as a parking lot for visitors to the studio. So not quite green. We were passing through there. Just a short walk. Very nice environment.

I must say -for the price we paid (34 euros/night)- I don't think it is a very positive review.

This is the kind of location that has to cost way less than this.

The owner was friendly, for the two minutes we saw her.

Furthermore it was a rather shabby meadow/environment (I get it -artsy, but still) with gear and machinery on it. We could use a fire pit and a toilet we could use, which was very handy and we were there alone, so it was very quiet.

I was looking for peace and I certainly found it.
The unconditional hospitality and helpfulness of the owners is certainly worth mentioning.
The camping site was pleasant and clean and the surroundings beautiful.
I had a wonderful week, thank you.

We had a lovely time here. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, the location peacefully quiet and comfortable for campers. We loved the area as well, very beautiful walking. On the website it wasn’t clear whether toilet and water were available turned out there were more amenities than expected.

The experience was super, on both campspaces we were the only campers. This location in Belgium was as expected, a grassland. The hosts were friendly and they left us in peace and quiet. The hosts were super friendly. Hard to say which is best. We will return for sure. Thanks for the experience.
