Camping with a view of the pollard willows or even along the pollard willows, with the rumbling of cows in the background, a curious cat brushing against your legs, watching the sun set behind the mill, fog over the meadows. If you recover from that, you are more than welcome here!
If you are a bit more enterprising, you can canoe in the Graaf or the Giessen river, cycle to the windmills of Kinderdijk, sail in the Biesbosch, walk to a tea garden, gaze over the many ditches, visit a thrift store, it is all possible here. If you want to experience some culture, visit the fortified town of Gorinchem or old Dordrecht or cross by water bus to Loevestein Castle.

Your tent is on a dairy farm, but hidden behind a shed it won't bother you that much.

There are two places available, one place is next to the barn, accessible by car with a view of a row of pollard willows. The second place is behind the shed and is only suitable for a tent, it is not accessible by car. You stand next to the pollard willows and you have a beautiful view of the meadows. Sitting in your chair with a cup of coffee and a book, you will naturally relax here.

If both places are booked at the same time, it still offers enough space and shelter for sufficient privacy.

There is a shower/toilet where you can sometimes encounter company employees or other visitors.
There is a sink in the shed with hot and cold water where you can do the dishes or sit for a while if it is raining very hard.
You can easily rent bicycles in the village at Bike Totaal IJzerman, he even has a drop-off and pick-up service!

We live in a beautiful place in the polder of the Alblasserwaard. After years of being in the city, I am completely relaxed with all these views and beautiful skies. Because my husband runs a dairy farm, we are often at home. We would like to share this place with others, but we like peace and quiet, so no mini camping, but the occasional camper seems very nice to us!

Tips

  • eat an ice cream on the Vuilendam

  • watch the sunset from under the chestnut tree

  • To Dordrecht by water bus or to the fortified town of Gorkum or Loevestein Castle. The grain neighborhood in Giessenburg has nice shops and curiosa, the thrift store in Goudriaan has a lot of second-hand stuff

  • De Boerenklaas is the local pub in the village.

  • Cafe De Krom in Oud Alblas, the guesthouse at holiday park De Molenwaard, the Raadhuis in Goudriaan
