About this campspace #s003545

BasThe camping site is a nature camping site, ie a small-scale green camping site with peace and quiet and affiliated with De Groene Koepel. The Green Book (€ 15.95) serves as proof of membership and is available at the campsite in addition to De Groene Koepel. The campsite has 15 spacious camping pitches, including two paved camper spots.
The campsite is located in the middle of the Blauwestad, a lake area of 800 hectares, with plenty of opportunities for various water sports.
The area, the Oldambt, is a wide landscape with the characteristic Oldambtster farms and is ideal for walking and cycling.
A campfire is possible in consultation. Also breakfast service and vegetables (unsprayed) from our own garden.
Lots of privacy between beautiful plants. Bad weather facility, with fridge, outdoor seating and possibility for campfire.

We, Petra and Bas, have had a small-scale campsite for years. Also a B&B and two hikers' cabins (one large and one small). We are happy to do this. Giving our guests a carefree and relaxed stay is the most important thing for us.

Wonderful stay at a nature campsite. The log cabin was fully equipped and the landlord was very hospitable. The included breakfast was delicious and wood for a fire was also available. In the house a pellet stove and a gas stove so that it was not cold at night. The donkeys were fed together, which was fun for my 6-year-old son.
Lovely walk in the area!

Nice green campsite. We were on the tent field with the donkeys, but there was also a small caravan parked there. The washing facilities are very limited at full occupancy and there was little or no cleaning. Use of refrigerator and attractive shelter and terrace are very pleasant.
How was the contact with the host?
The host was on vacation himself, his son only came by in the evening to register new guests. It seemed a bit much responsible for a (young) person alone.

We camped here in our roof top tent with our dog.
It’s a nature camping ground and a rather large camping for Campspace (25+). We spotted three fields, a field for campers/caravans, a mixed field and one for tents only. The grounds were pretty wet when we were there (3-5 August) and because of that beautifully green. The other guests were friendly!
How was the contact with the host?
We did not meet Bas. There was a young man who came by every late afternoon. He was nice but unable to answer our questions on how many guests he was yet expecting and where to put up our camp.
Tips for new guests?
It is a great area for walking, cycling and running.

Contact went well! The manager responded quickly to our questions and was helpful and relaxed. Nice area, nice fields. Basic but well-functioning sanitary facilities (nice shower!). Tips: Cycling around the lake, hiking at the Dollard

Already on the path to camping Meerland a feeling of peace comes over you. All that greenery and lush flowers.
Host Bas came to greet us and told us about his beautiful campsite. There are places with a power connection and a field without power, where you can choose a nice spot for your tent. There is also a hiker's cabin and a comfort cabin.
We chose a spot on the water in a sheltered spot between the trees, which gave us a lot of privacy, despite the fact that there were several guests.
The sanitary facilities are fine, there are toilets, showers and washbasins with hot and cold water and a place to wash dishes. The presence of a pizza oven and the possibility to make a campfire are the icing on the cake of this fine campsite.
Because the campsite is also a rest point for cyclists and walkers, coffee, tea and a few other things are available.
In the area you can go on endless bike rides and go hiking. There are various possibilities for water sports in the area and there are a few beaches near the lake, including at Midwolda and Blauwestad. The unique 800 meter long footbridge connects Blauwestad with Winschoten. Winschoten is Groningen's second shopping city and is fun to visit. The point of Reide is also worth a visit. Here you can see seals up close, behind a special wall. We were lucky that a large group of youngsters were resting, who became active just when we were there. Super fun to watch the behavior of the seals, without disturbing the animals.

A very nice campsite, perfect to relax. Very clean facilities. Many routes around nature for walking or cycling. Bas the owner is a very good person and he helped us in all the doubts we had. We will return as soon as we have the chance!
