Professionally I am a teacher, but in my spare time I am mainly busy with my garden and I like to make a trip now and then, preferably in a sporty way, i.e. on foot or by bicycle. I especially like small-scale campsites.

Tips

  • Bruges is a very beautiful place

  • Cycling or walking in the nearby nature reserves

We cycled on the art cities route. Very beautiful circuit, well signposted. Filip's Garden was our last stop until the sea.

How was the contact with the host?
Very warm welcome from Filip and his wife. We stayed in the very well equipped caravan (possibility of eating under the awning or outside). The shower is located outside in a wooden shed, very comfortable.

Tips for new guests?
Recommended stopover to visit Bruges (a good 1/2 hour by bike) or go to the sea.

It was a very good experience. Filip and Annelies were very friendly people, you immediately feel a bit at home.
The location is also beautiful, it is wonderful to sit between the apple trees.
Everything is easily accessible both by car and by bicycle (which you can rent on site).
There is a lot of information about what you can do. Both in sunny and rainy weather. (this was a real plus for us since we often forget to check in advance what you can do in case of rain)
In the morning we had a delicious breakfast with only fresh products. Highly recommended!
There was a shower with hot water and all other amenities such as eg. toilets were perfectly fine. Everything is also well maintained by the owners.

How was the contact with the host?
This went very smoothly. Filip sent a message in advance with all the necessary information. During our stay we could also ask questions. We were also helped immediately. What a fantastic service.

Highly recommended!
Dear Philip & Partner,
First of all, communication was always top notch, even though Filip was staying in the Alps, he always responded to our emails. The location is really beautiful, overlooking the farmlands and all the animals (horse-sheep-chicken-dog) it immediately gives a feeling of space and freedom. Everything is made by the host (shower, water supply, waste) taking into account our footprint on mother earth. :-)
The breakfast was really delicious, beautifully presented in a wicker basket.Filip does everything to make you feel "at home". All products are traditionally prepared by the lady of the house and the host and this for a really rock-bottom price. Filip and his wife do everything they can to make you feel comfortable...they even got out of bed because there were problems with the toilet.
With a wide range of information and advice about sights, day trips and cycling trips. Green belt around Bruges and round from Jabbeke along various nature reserves and polders to the coastal route are definitely recommended.
Dear Filip and partner, thanks to you, Ton's 60th birthday became unforgettable. A very big THANK YOU!
We enjoyed it and will definitely come again! :-)

Tell us about your experience
Filip's campspace is a nice base for a weekend in Bruges. After a warm welcome we were allowed to pitch our tent in Filip's apple and pear orchard. A beautiful place and everything at your disposal. A nice shower tent, electricity, a clean chemical toilet and possibility for a cozy campfire. Part of the orchard is fenced off for a super sweet and playful dog who likes to be petted.

You don't have to get bored during your visit because in addition to visiting Bruges, you can also choose from one of the activities from Filip's book. He has compiled this book with great care and attention and it is certainly worth looking into.

One of the biggest advantages of this campspace is that the campspace is close to the historic city of Bruges. This is easy to reach by car, but for the real experience you can rent a bicycle or scooter from Filip.

The overall experience is very positive!

How was the contact with the host?
Filip is a very warm host. A warm welcome, an extensive tour and good in the kitchen. We have used the breakfast service which was very good. Nice to know is that Filip and his wife make almost everything themselves, such as apple juice, jam, yogurt and eggs from their own garden. In addition, the contact online has always been quick and clear.

A pleasant reception with explanations about the tent etc. Nice and quiet location in the orchard behind the house. The tent is very old. There is a separate shower tent. This could perhaps be screened off a bit for a little more privacy while showering. The chemical toilet is in a 'hutch', but this also got used quickly. The breakfast is fine, although it would be nice to have some variation in it for several nights. My advice is not to advise guests to drink the water from the tap in the tent. This is pumped up groundwater that definitely has a foul odor. After I had drunk a glass, my body immediately reacted with severe nausea. Doesn't sound like safe drinking water to me. Fortunately we got a large bottle of good drinking water afterwards. We understand something different by the word glamping. At least a little more luxurious. Very nice that we could rent bicycles at a very reasonable price. The contact with the landlords was very pleasant and pleasant. The dog Pipa is a nice playful animal. We made delicious apple compote from the many apples we received. All in all, we look back on a few nice days at this mini campsite.

The contact with the host was very good. Via the website he responds almost immediately. Also, upon arrival and during the stay, he was very kind and welcoming. The location is very beautiful, a large space for the tent and facilities such as a picknick bench and barbecue. The outdoor shower has a tent around it for privacy and is easy to operate. The toilet was fun to access (through the sheep pen) and always very clean (cleaned daily). The host also sells bread and goods for very reasonable prices, among which the delicious apple juice from apples from the trees you camp under. We had a great camping experience with Filip and would recommend to anyone who is not scared of sheep and loves the calm and outdoor experience.
