We are Bartele and Monique. We moved from the heart of Utrecht to De Steeg 14 years ago and we still enjoy the place where we now live every day. We would like to share that with others.

We were welcomed and shown around. Furthermore, had little contact. Nice place under the plane trees, private sanitary facilities and kitchen. The noise from the railway was not too bad. However, the highway was very dominant. Lovely walk in the woods. The visitor center on the Posbank is busy and touristy, but once you are a few hundred meters from there it is quiet.

Our night in De Steeg was top, score 5 out of 5!
Friendly and hospitable reception, good and clean (private) sanitary facilities and a beautiful location right on the Veluwezoom.

Coffee and a fridge available. Possibility to make a fire pit and table and chairs. Highly recommended.

The place in the Steeg was above expectations, 4 stars. Not 5 stars because you didn't have an unobstructed view. But definitely recommended!
There was a 'normal' bathroom available and even a kettle and coffee / tea.
The place is located between a street and a railway line, but that does not have to be a problem, people also won so ... In addition, I was 'lucky' to spend the night there during the curfew and therefore quiet on the street and less trains.
Contact with the host was fine and respectful.

At the foot of the most beautiful nature reserve in the Netherlands, the Posbank, ideal for walks and bike rides.
Lovely garden, friendly people, everything well cared for, toilet, shower, tea, coffee and a picnic table.

It is a wonderful, sheltered spot on the edge of beautiful nature. Much to explore towards the forest or towards the IJssel. It is next to a railway line, so if you sleep lightly, earplugs might be nice. What's great is that you can also grab a cup of coffee inside.

Camping under the plane trees, what more could you want? We camped here for a wonderful night. Our sons played soccer, chased the 3 chickens into the coop with the eldest daughter and roasted marshmallows over a campfire in the evening. Monique and Bartele offer you your own sanitary facilities, with a nice shower. You can also use a fridge and even a cup of coffee in this room. There are plenty of maps of the area. You can easily walk up the Veluwezoom. If you are a hiker or cyclist or MTB there are plenty of routes from this place and this is an ideal location to relax for 1 or 2 nights. Despite the fact that it is next to the track and a road, we had little trouble with this. We thought it was a wonderful place to relax.

I was warmly received. I could put my tent under the plane trees. And could use a private sanitary house. Very nice stay here and fast response. Please note that they live directly on the track. I personally have not been bothered by that.

Monique was a friendly host. She gave us the space to move around her house, shower and look at some walking routes while drinking coffee. The garden is furnished with three gorgeous spring chickens that we hear like to cuddle, and four outstanding 50+ year old trees. Across the street there’s the most magical forest ever. You can get lost a bit, while looking at deer and the shapes in the trees. Also, the Posbank is five minutes away, so we scuttled away at four in the morning to watch the sunrise. There’s quite a diversity of landscapes around. We’re planning on coming back. Thank you Monique!
