About this campspace #s005325
Camping cabin 4 people
There are two camping cabins on the site. A camping cabin is a simple wooden shelter for 4 people. The cabin is a room containing 2 x 2 bunk beds, a table, 4 chairs, a 3-burner stove and electricity. Cutlery and crockery are provided in the cabin. You must bring your own sleeping bag and pillowcase. You can rent a set of sheets or towels at the time of booking. When renting the set of sheets, a duvet is included.
There is a picnic table between the two camping cabins.
You use the sanitary facilities of the campsite. The camping cabins are available when the campsite is open.
The campsite is a proud initiative of WMO Maatwerk, a city polder campsite located on the edge of Leiden, city of discoveries. You can cycle to the center of Leiden within 10 minutes. The site of De Stochemhoeve borders on Cronesteyn Park, which has a water park and a tea garden.
On the grounds of De Stochemhoeve there is a farm of which the front part, the "reception/living room", is used as a space for daytime activities, as well as a recreation room for the camping guests. Besides playing board games or reading a book from our library, you can buy a delicious cup of coffee, soft drink, sandwich or ice cream here. A group of children with disabilities stays in the rear part of the farm every weekend and during the school holidays.
Next to the farm there is a campsite where there is room for a tent and caravan, but where there is also a log cabin, a pipowagen and two camping cabins. There are also bicycles for rent to explore the area.
The campsite is located in the Cronesteyn polder park right on the Rhine-Schie Canal. With 90 hectares, Park Cronesteyn is the largest park in Leiden. Its size and diversity of landscapes make it an absolute winner for people, plants and animals. There are beautiful walking and rollerblading paths through swamp gardens, forests, pilot whales and you can stroll through the polder. About 200 meters from the site is a water playground where you can ride rafts, see if you can get across with the cable car and there is a water pump system. In short, hours of fun for the children.
Directly at the campsite is a new jetty with many places (no longer than 48 hours) so that especially canoeists and small boats can reach us very easily. Many cycling and walking routes (including the Marskramerpad) pass the campsite.
The center of Leiden is about 10 minutes by bike. Leiden is a particularly atmospheric city with many canals, canals, markets, courtyards and monumental sights. A city for a walk or just sitting on a terrace, with several nice restaurants and plenty of opportunities to go out. The various museums, including Naturalis, the National Museum of Antiquities or the Museum of Ethnology, are also well worth a visit.
Leiden is centrally located in relation to major cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Haarlem, Delft and Gouda. The beach of Wassenaar and Katwijk with their beautiful dune area is within 10 kilometers. Recreational area Vlietland in Leidschendam, Theme Park Archeon in Alphen aan den Rijn, Amusement Park Duinrell in Wassenaar, Vlietlanden in Leidschendam and Space Expo Noordwijk are also great outings and easy to reach.
