About this campspace

Large Riverside garden, a real idyll, with access to national footpaths, fishing, canoeing, great cycle rides. The 20mile Gipping valley footpath runs through our river garden. Very quiet location. River great for kids in summer, with lock and mill pool just 50 metres away.
Camp either in secure garden or riverside garden. Both areas are soft ground and stone free......so easy to get the tent pegs in, and easy to sleep on......... We've tried it in our bell tent.

Easy access to local transport links (train or a14 / a12). London train line station 3 miles away (Liverpool St station 1h 20mins).
Good local pubs, shops 1 mile away.

Lovely genuine farm shop 3 miles up river, with PYO, cafe & where cycle hire is also available.

5m top of the range soulpad bell tent available for hire. Punt boat also available.
Tree house & play house in the garden with very long drop swing. Hammocks for resting.

Family of 3 in a lovely garden & riverside setting - had many campers via campinmygarden from all over the world (furthest was Tasmania).
Also enjoy camping with our own bell tent & understand the importance of a campfire ;)

Tips

  • if you manage to photograph the otter or kingfishers you get a free night.

  • challenge you to try punting

Jamie and his family were wonderful hosts! They provided us with everything we could need and it was wonderful to talk to them, and find out more about them! Their garden is beautiful and there are lots of nice easy walks to do from their house. It was lovely to be able to swim so close to the house and we had a lovely stay.

There are some lovely pubs not too far and if you are an early riser, you can walk into Ipswich or up to Needham Lake and beyond. We chose to adventure closer to the house and went on some lovely walks. There is also a Budgens nearby in case you need any emergency supplies. Truly a lovely place to stay :)
