House on wheels: Unique glamping in Wellen

5.00 (3 reviews) Verified Wellen, Limburg, Belgium #s007739

About this campspace

Welcome! My dad, boyfriend and I built this traditional gypsy wagon together, made from recycled wood. It took blood, sweat and tears to create this unique nature house from an old hay wagon, but now we welcome you with a lot of warmth! Our cozy house on wheels is located in the middle of nature so that you can relax completely. The Haspengouw region is the largest fruit region in Western Europe and a paradise for those who love culture and nature. In the spring the landscape changes into a colorful sea of blossoms and in the autumn you can pick fresh fruit. Cycle or walk between the orchards, visit enchanting castles and taste Limburg delicacies! :)

Hi you! Although born & raised in the small Belgian city of Hasselt, I caught the travel bug at a young age. I feel a great urge to explore places, people & cultures off the beaten path, where tourism is not really present yet. I get energy from hiking, diving, discovering, horseback riding and talking with strangers. Together with my boyfriend and father I created a cabin on wheels - the ideal getaway to fully unwind after a hectic week. I love to make people feel comfortable. I hope my cabin will feel like your home. Feel welcome!

Tips

  • There are two nice spas nearby "Yolande Buekers" & "the hidden pearl". Other recommendations: castle of Ordingen, see-through church, PIT cycle route, syrup distillery of Vrolingen,

  • Walk through the orchards (see sign on village square Ulbeek aan de Bottelarij).

  • On Wednesday morning there is an organic market in Alken on the market square. You can go to care beekeeping Nais for honey. There is an organic shop in the street with fresh vegetables, fruit and meat!

  • Joséphine for cake, lunch and breakfast. Wine café Mourvèdre for pizzas and wines. De Bottelarij for regional dishes, drinks, lunch and dinner.
