Holschbacher height
About this campspace #s006101
Your host
Hans-JürgenWelcome to the Holschbacher height,
Our farm is located on the edge of the Westerwald and invites hikers, cyclists or other travelers to stay overnight. Up to 2 tents can be pitched on our tent meadow between cows, horses and chickens. A fireplace with seating offers the option to sit around the campfire. I am happy to provide wood for a small fee. In our bar in the stable building there is a toilet which is available to our guests as well as a refrigerator, stove and coffee maker. You are also welcome to stay in the bar or outside under the large walnut tree in the cool shade.
Those who like hiking will find what they are looking for in the surrounding area with the Holschbacher Rundweg (6.5 km). The Siegsteig is recommended for longer hikes. There are also a number of routes for cyclists in the area that lead deep into the Westerwald. A clear recommendation for both hikers and cyclists is a tour through the Nistertal.
Other excursion destinations would be the Marienstatt Monastery, the Druidenstein or the Holzbach Gorge, to name just a few. Beautiful Hachenburg is also always worth a visit.
Feel cordially invited.

I was traveling alone with the tent and stayed with Hans-Jürgen and his family for one night. The campsite is very lovingly designed and well maintained, it doesn't get any better than that :)

How was the contact with the host?
Sehr gut!

Information for guests
1. You will receive contact details on site
If I don't answer right away, I'll call you back as soon as possible.
2.Bar / Toilet
The bar can be used as a common room. Please leave them as you found them. Please only use the fireplace by prior arrangement.
The refrigerator is only switched on when required and should be switched off again before departure. The same applies to the flow heater under the sink.
Only use the dishwasher by prior arrangement.
Please leave the toilet clean.
3. Campfires / fire baskets / fire bowls
There are various ways to make a fire in our yard. Basically, this should be discussed beforehand. Unfortunately, due to increasing drought, it will not always be possible to make a fire. We ask for your understanding.
If we give the green light, a wheelbarrow full of wood can be provided for €5. This is usually enough for a whole evening.
A fire basket or fire bowl is available for the area under the walnut tree. For the area by the orchard there is of course the beautiful fireplace.
We ask that you do not overdo the fire and always keep an eye on it.
Before going to "bed" please extinguish the fire with water. Watering cans are ready.
4. Crickets
We are happy to provide a tripod free of charge. Please clean the grill grate again after use.
5. Electricity and water
Mobile phones and other small devices can be charged free of charge in the bar.
If you also need electricity for your camper, you can get it for a small flat rate by arrangement.
6. Animals
If you want to pay a visit to the animals, you should contact us beforehand. In principle, do not allow children to go to the animals without being accompanied by adults. Please do not feed the animals.
For dog owners: Please make sure that your four-legged friends do not hunt horses or chickens.
7. Rest Periods
Basically, we don't want to have a loud party in the courtyard. Of course, there is nothing wrong with a bang at the campfire. But please make sure that the volume is really reduced after 10 p.m.
