A great location in the middle of nature near a former farm near the village of Stokkum. It is a place where there are no designated camping places, but where you choose a place that you like.
Pretty back to basic, there are no toilet facilities and showers so being self-sufficient is recommended. That makes this place a unique place to stay.
Stokkum is located in the middle of the Montferland in the east of the country. A great nature, forest but also floodplains and dikes where you can enjoy walking or cycling. Many cycling, hiking and mountain biking trails!
Many villages in the area with a rich history and the associated historic buildings.
There is a lot of wildlife to see, including roe deer, buzzards, many other species of birds and even the fox and badger regularly walk through our meadow! Our own chickens and rooster scratch around the yard, the eggs of which are free to use.

Hello bon vivants,
We are a family of 4, Jaap (39), Ilona (33), Elise (6) and Jolie (3). We live with great pleasure and freedom in Stokkum. We would therefore like to convey this feeling to our campers.

We have been wonderful. Cycling and walking is completely fine from this place. Shops and restaurants within cycling distance.
You can hear the highway, but the strength depends on the wind. In the end we had little trouble with it. The place is self-sufficient (steam and water available) but a facility for emptying the toilet would be a good addition.

How was the contact with the host?
It was fine, nice people.
And very easy going.

Tips for new guests?
Beautiful area for walking or cycling. s-Heerenberg is available for everything and has a nice castle. And Germany is close too

Almost at the end of a cul-de-sac is the former farm of the hospitable Ilona and Jaap. Since the beginning of 2021, Jaap and Ilona want to give their guests the feeling of peace and space that they experience here every day. And although the highway is very close, you can certainly get that feeling. Your spot is between corn and flower fields. The neighboring cows graze lazily and if you are lucky you will spot a deer, badger or fox that can just walk across the site.

From the CampSpace you can step onto the Staickheimer Klompenpad and you can take a walk of 17 (or 9 or 11) km. You can grab a bite to eat at the Klaphek within walking distance.

In the long run, Ilona would like to realize a mini farm campsite, complete with a bathhouse. Until then, you have to be self-sufficient! Ilona has prepared a bag for you with information about the area and some tasty treats. And if the chickens are not broody, there are fresh eggs every morning for the camping guests! Elise and Jolie, the daughters of Jaap and Ilona, will love to play with your children.

That clog path is an absolute must. Very varied and largely unpaved! I divided it over 2 days, thought 17 km in one go was just a bit too much of a good thing 😅
