You can enjoy cycling in the Mijzenpolder (bicycle rental can be requested, bicycles can then be brought and picked up) and here you mainly have peace and quiet. We have a care farm, all week and on Saturday, where participants come for daytime activities. For we have a ring canal where you can fish, sail (no boat rental) and even swim in good weather. Only with us no open fire ... In exceptionally bad weather, the canteen can be used if necessary. There is a toilet in the nearby canteen, the shower is in the stable, which is small, but good for real campers to use .... At the Mijzenhoeve I found exactly the peace, space and nature I was looking for. My tent was allowed to pitch anywhere on the lawn, sheltered by a hedge. There are picnic tables and a covered kitchen, where I was allowed to use everything I needed. Super nice, because I didn't have much stuff with me on the bike.

How was the contact with the host?
Karin and Adrie are incredibly warm and welcoming. I was met by Karin when I arrived later than planned. I immediately felt welcome. The next morning it was: "Feel free to grab a cup of coffee!!" They always had time for a chat and a bit of fun, but I could also easily retreat to the hammock in the yard. Everything is allowed and nothing is obligatory, wonderful.

Tips for new guests?
You can walk and cycle through the beautiful polder landscape, surrounded by cows and sheep. To Oudendijk for example, where they sell vegetables, fruit and homemade chocolate and sheep ice cream along the road, or Hoorn, where you can go to the harbor and the museum. If you love animals, be sure to take the time to pet all the calves, cows, horses, cats and labradors!

Great stay at this care farm. Was allowed to stand with my tent where I wanted and use the kitchen which was very nice during this rainy day/night. Good sanitary facilities.

After a tiring hike while it started to rain harder, Karin was already waiting for me. That felt very nice and welcome. Very hospitable despite the busy existence of these people (I think).
