Cosily furnished Bell tent on an eco mini campsite on the outskirts of Sneek
About this campspace #s004396
The Bell tents can be rented per week, midweek and for a weekend. Fully furnished Bell tent for 4 people (up to 6 with extra mats / extra tent) on a small-scale campsite on the backside meadow with lots of privacy, peace and space. You can see Sneek, but it is still surrounded by extensive meadows. From the camping site you can walk straight into the adjacent park of 6 hectares, which is managed by the city farm. In the summer our horses graze here. There is a wide ditch around the campsite and there is almost completely unobstructed views, with birds of prey, grazing horses and sheep as a background. You hear a lot of frogs and occasionally there is also a deer! Children can enjoy climbing trees, building rafts, playing in the hay, picking flowers and interacting with animals. The farm is still under development and we hope that our first guests will think along with us and inspire us to make this beautiful place even more beautiful!
The farm is located on 2.4 hectares of land. There is a horse pit, a terrace with trampoline and sandpit, a large vegetable garden and several stables. This year we are opening our local produce shop with a terrace, where you can buy cold drinks, ice cream, dairy and vegetables. You can also buy local beer and wine here to take to your tent. There is a parking lot at the front where you can park your car. We have 4 bicycles for rent.
The Bell tents have a double mattress, a sofa bed for 2 people (with separate mattresses), a picnic set, a BBQ, stove, complete kitchen inventory and fridge with freezer. There is an inner tent in which the double mattress lies. If desired, it can be divided into two parts to create an extra room. With more than 4 people, you must provide sleeping accommodation (mats, air mattress or extra tent). The tent is spacious enough for this.
THE CAMPING FIELD
The camping field is located behind the farm, far from the (very quiet) public road. The field is surrounded by a wide ditch and has a view of the meadows and the horses in the adjacent park. You can watch the sun go down beautifully here! There is room for 15 pitches, including 2 Bell tents. The sanitary building is located in the former cubicle barn and has separate ladies and gents areas, with a total of 7 toilets and 4 showers. This does have a step, so it is not easily accessible for the disabled. In the field is also our newly landscaped vegetable garden, where you can pick herbs and lettuce. Next to the field we have created a sheltered place with lighting, hammock, fire bowl and picnic benches, where you can sit comfortably. There is also a covered seating area in the stable where you can play games or lounge. There are several water and electricity points for general use on the site, both indoors and outdoors.
A few times a week, children can help take care of the animals, such as feeding chickens, collecting eggs and brushing ponies. Small children (up to 8 years) can take a ride on the shetland ponies under supervision and for older children there is a good Haflinger that can be ridden. We also provide a pizza evening every week!
The beautiful city of Sneek with its many terraces, shops and old buildings is only a few minutes by bike. You can swim in the Zwette (canal) within 5 minutes by bike. The Sneekermeer is 7 km away, where you can swim, sail and water ski. There are many restaurants within cycling distance that also deliver to the campsite. At 11 km is the most beautiful tropical swimming paradise in the North (we think), SwimFun in Joure. Do you want to ride in an indoor arena or go for an outdoor ride? This can be arranged through us at a nice riding school near Heerenveen (half an hour by car). Visit the 11 cities such as Sloten and Hindeloopen, eat a fish in the picturesque Makkum, go wind or kite surfing in Workum, rent a canoe or SUP board, there is a lot to do in beautiful Friesland.
