PeggyWe will be open again from April 1, nice to welcome you again!

Hello, thank you for visiting my site!
My name is Peggy and I have enjoyed this beautiful place in Doornenburg together with Kees for years. We would like to let other people also enjoy the space we have.
Our location stands for hospitality, tranquility and conviviality. There are many fun things to do in the area. Beautiful cycling and walking routes, canoeing on the Linge, but also the Castle Doornenburg of Floris and Fort Pannerden are within walking distance. Of course we can tell you a lot more when you come and enjoy us at 'De Peerdestal'.
I also love to cook and that's why I want to make you a simple, but freshly prepared meal for a small fee.
We hope to welcome you at "de Peerdestal"
Regards,
peggy

Peggy and Kees' garden is a wonderful place to pitch your tent or stay in the horse stable. The combination is also great!
A nice place to sit, handy use of stuff, a fire, delicious food and very nice people. And that in a nice area to walk through. We had a great time!
How was the contact with the host?
Peggy answers quickly and offers you a delicious meal and breakfast and if you want a chat.

We spent two nights in Peggy's garden, and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was splendid and delicious, sanitary facilities clean and all what was needed was there or could be asked for. This was the first time we had wine on a campspace in proper glasses instead of in our plastic cups! The environment and Millingerwaard are pretty and quite and perfect to explore by bike or on foot. Warmly recommended!
How was the contact with the host?
Peggy and her daughter communicated super quickly and friendly. We were warmly welcomed and got all we need.
Tips for new guests?
Visiting the neighborhood and nature in spring comes with the additional benefit of spotting all young animals being born in the Millingerwaard. The fort Pannerden was also really worth a visit and on biking/walking distance.

Very nice location, lots of freedom, and it was even possible to sleep in the horse stable! Host was very friendly, received a warm welcome, but also had the space to do our thing. Got nice tips about the area, and received a delicious breakfast the next morning. It is highly recommended!

Very good, easy and very friendly.
Tips for new guests?
Bring your bike! Discuss in advance whether you may be allowed to stay in the horse stable if you are not really into camping.

We really enjoyed with Peggy! The superhost has a beautiful garden, with great views. It is quiet, but there is plenty to do and experience in the area. Peggy does everything to make it a pleasant and relaxed stay. The stable has been converted and equipped with many comforts; a fridge, table and chairs and sufficient seating areas. Cozy lights, campfire. In short: great!
How was the contact with the host?
Very good! Peggy is very approachable!

Incredibly hospitable. Nice place, with extra easy chairs and covered place. Recommended, the long-distance bicycle route that runs across the street at the ferry. Buy cherries near the castle.

Peggy’s campspace is a hidden gem that is definitely worth more than a weekend visit. She is one of the warmest and welcoming hosts we have experienced. The campspace is in the middle of nowhere, completely private, with open spaces in three directions of your tent that lets you breathe. You go to bed with the concert of a hundred birds and wake up to the sound of fat, cute sheep calling you to breakfast that Peggy prepares homemade for you! We could shelter under the horse shed “Peerdestal” to cook our dinner when it rained, and it also has convenient amenities like a water boiler, tea and coffee maker. The surrounding Betuwe nature area is beautiful and rich: lots of hiking in Millingerward and Klompenwaard, bunnies, cows and wild Konik horses to make friends with. If you crave some chill time, you can grab beers at the Doornenburg Castle or the Millinger Theetuin. Overall, a beautiful experience in the middle of wild nature with warm hosts and a full set of amenities and activities to do. All this just 20km from Nijmegen, highly recommended!

Camped with my 9 year old daughter for a night. We really liked the beautiful surroundings and very friendly hostess. A pleasant side effect is the old horse stable that has been converted into a lounge.

We spent three fantastic days at the Peerdestal, even though the weather was not great.
Peggy and Kees are very friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. The contact with them before (via Campspace) and during our stay was perfectly adequate.
The campspace is located in the beautiful garden of Peggy and Kees, very close to the Linge river and the split of the Waal and Nederrijn river. The surrounding landscape is perfect for explorations by bike and walking.
The campspace is quiet, spacious and disposes of two adjacent roofed areas (one outside and one semi-inside), where we found shelter for the rain. These areas contain a fridge with cooled drinks, two tables, chairs, sofas, water cooker, candles, … you name it! very luxurious for a campsite! the site also has two picnic tables and two wood stoves. Wood is available for a small price. A shower and toilet are available in the house at a very short distance.
Peggy is happy to prepare a very nice breakfast for a small price.
We warmly recommend this beautiful campsite to all campers looking for a few quiet days close to nature!
We would like to give 6 stars out of 5 :)
