The Farm campsite is located in the middle of Cortenoever, a floodplain area with lots of greenery and river dunes. A cycle path runs directly behind the campsite over the dike from where you have a beautiful view of the IJssel that is all around.
Both Brummen (4 km) and Zutphen (7 km) are easily accessible by bicycle or car.
Brummen is a quiet village between the Veluwezoom and the IJssel with many old country houses in and around its core. Due to the transition from Veluwe to river area, nature is very varied and there are special nature areas such as the Empese and Tondense Hei. With the ferry just outside Brummen you can also cross to Bronkhorst, which is known as the smallest town in the Netherlands.
Zutphen has a beautiful old town where you can enjoy the cozy terraces, special shops and hidden courtyards. Would you like to see the city in a different way? Then take a canoe or whisper boat across the Berkel or view the city from above when you climb the Walburgist tower.
A little further away, but still easily accessible, are the Hanseatic cities of Doesburg and Deventer. Attractions such as Burgers' Zoo, the Speelerij, Kröller-Möller Museum and the Veluwsche Stoomtrein and nature reserves such as the Posbank are also a maximum of half an hour away by car.
Closer to home, or in this case the tent, you can enjoy the picking garden on our site (from mid-August to November) or the boot path that runs through the nature reserve behind the campsite. You can also easily connect to various walking routes and cycling networks from the campsite.
The campsite is connected to care farm Cortenoever. The employees take care of the cleaning of the simple sanitary facilities and keep track of the mowing of the campsite. There is also a rest area at the campsite where you as a hiker, cyclist or camper can make your own cup of coffee or tea for a fee. Farm ice cream is also available.
There are 2 tents on the campsite that we offer for rental and we also have wonderful camping spots for a tent, in the middle of the orchard.
With a simple base you can enjoy the peace.

My name is Roel, I am co-owner of Werk en Zorgboerderij Cortenoever and I also manage the campsite. I prefer to do this together with our clients.
Buy homemade jam at the jam cart on top of the dike.
You can take a walk at the IJssel via the road to the goose egg

I had a very nice stay. Nice place between the trees and enough space.
The area is beautiful, although the walking area towards the IJsel is closed due to work. You are close to the Veluwse Zoom, so there is plenty of space for a walk.
In the evening, enjoy the tranquility of the campsite.

Beautiful camping spot in an old orchard. You set up your tent between the trees in the tall grass. Unique place in the sense that it exudes a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful place, remote from civilization, ideally located on the floodplains of the IJssel, the wide landscape is beautiful to view from the dike that runs along the Campspace. The site is richly provided with vegetation, greenery and young trees. The sanitary facilities are top notch, if the campsite is full, the presence of only 1 shower and 1 toilet may be a bit tight, but I think it's livable. The camping pitches are widely spread over the site, so you can enjoy your own privacy. The Campspace also has various tents that have already been set up, some of which are equipped with relaxed seating and festive lighting. In addition, you can use the existing kitchen unit under the roof, including a stove and refrigerator. And not unimportantly, the campsite is part of a Rest Point where various delicacies are available, including ice cream, which is of course a delicious dessert after a meal prepared yourself. For the lightweight camper it is also relaxed to know that the camping site has various chairs and benches / picnic tables. Although you can walk and cycle beautifully in the immediate vicinity, the Campspace is also not far from the Veluwe, which is definitely worth a visit as one of the more beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands, if I do say so myself.
How was the contact with the host?
Had little contact with the host, but everything actually refers to itself, in addition, the kitchen block is equipped with the necessary information and you could always contact the host for remaining questions.
Tips for new guests?
Take bicycles with you, you can cycle beautifully in the immediate vicinity along the floodplains and perhaps visit Zutphen and/or Bronkhorst, for example.

I was here in the orchard for 6 nights and had a great night's sleep. Everything you need from a hot shower, fridge to hob and pans is provided. Even picnic sets are there. How hospitable! Nice place and beautiful picking garden. Camping the way I like it: pooping on the campsite and close to nature. You can still hear the highway. But I have calmed down a lot.
How was the contact with the host?
Could be a little more, in my opinion…
Tips for new guests?
There is a swimming lake nearby. With the ferry you arrive in the smallest town in the Netherlands.

Upon arrival I saw a dry field with a dry apple tree here and there. No shady spots possible under the still immature apple trees. I was assigned a spot in full sun. There are also 4 furnished tents, outdoor kitchen, picnic benches on the field. This weekend there were 8 places occupied, this could also be 15 or 18. There is 1 toilet and 1 shower. In the outdoor kitchen you can cook, tap water and use a small fridge. Host indicated the spot on arrival and then went on holiday. Garbage cans at the kitchen and rest point were already full, are no longer emptied. Furthermore, very quiet on the campsite, there is no entertainment, so if you like that it is a great place. Cycle path runs past the campsite, otherwise the campsite is surrounded by fields full of birds and hares. On the road behind or in front of the campsite you can put down your chair to enjoy this panoramic view and the sunrise and sunset. You just can't see the IJssel from the campsite.
How was the contact with the host?
On arrival I wanted to find a spot near the rest point, but the host came and told me that many cyclists were coming the next day and I was assigned a place. Well friendly man.
Tips for new guests?
Take tarp with you.
