Our small-scale eco-camping is located on a green, relaxing site called L'île de Bambecque in French Flanders. This place is a true oasis of peace and nature, a wonderful place where you escape time. Connecting with nature comes naturally here. The boat on the shore is waiting for the adventurous visitor. A food forest was planted on the site. In season you can buy a self-harvest package of locally grown vegetables, fruit and herbs. Connecting with nature comes naturally here.
With the connection to 'De Noordzeeroute' nearby, cyclists will also get their money's worth.

Our project is in the start-up phase. Next up is the construction of the water purification system. In addition, we try to think and act cyclically as much as possible. eg reuse of material and raw materials from the site itself.

My partner, dog and I had a wonderful time. It was beautiful and we loved the vegetables and fruits from their own garden.

L'île de Bambecque is a beautiful natural refuge to let the soul linger and to take a break from daily life. I was kindly welcomed by his host Ruben, who gave me a tour of the farm.
For a free donation it is possible to pick some of the fruits and vegetables, that one can find everywhere on the whole farm area - I definitely recommend you to do that and taste all those beautiful creations of nature.
This place is perfect for a (solo) getaway, camping in privacy, meditating, watching animals, eating great food and getting to know amazing people.
Thank you Ruben and family, for sharing this idyllic place with us !

Great fun three-day bike ride 2 grandfathers and grandson 11 j.265 km curved from Bambeke along rural roads around Casselberg, to Zuydcoote-Bray dunes, to Watou, Proven...
Wonderfully camped in the Bell tent, on the ultra-quiet Ile de Bambecque site. No superfluous luxury, but return à la nature.
How was the contact with the host?
Very warm people with a strong eco-feeling, much needed in this run-up to the disastrous consequences of climate change.bio-vegetable garden+++.more than correct in terms of pricing

Beautiful, quiet and cozy campsite.
Very clean sanitary facilities.
We had rented an empty Tipi tent for 3 nights. No dragging and hassle to bring and set up a tent. The tent looks small from the outside but is surprisingly spacious. In short, highly recommended!

Super friendly host!!

Very beautiful Campside and we loved the animals. We didn't need an alarm clock because the roosters will wake you up just in time (to see the sunrise) ;). The toilets and showers were super clean.
Maybe the Guests should be imformed more specifically not to bring chemical/perfumed shower gels or light open fires in the woods.

Camping Île de Bambeque was a super nice campsite. 5 nights in the wild camping forest were well worth it; nice in the shade, beautiful surroundings and very relaxed people.
How was the contact with the host?
Contact via Campspace went very well and at the campsite itself we were also kindly welcomed and shown around. Ruben and the rest are top hosts!

Thank you! Indeed, we consciously opt for basic comfort and like to keep away from the word glamping. Glad you were able to enjoy our fire pit!

Super nice place to completely relax in the middle of nature. The domain is beautiful. We were able to harvest vegetables and fruit ourselves and cooked deliciously on the wood fire. Recommended!

The Bambecque Island campsite is a small haven of peace. Beyond the possibility of camping on a magnificent and peaceful site, the sustainable agriculture project that they are setting up is very beautiful.
Bonus: the toilets are very clean (toilet paper, sponge/dish soap provided, free hot showers).
I recommend with eyes closed!
How was the contact with the host?
Great, Katrien and Ruben are very available and welcoming.

We prefer to keep this place quiet. So please respect the environment, nature, and each other.
We also ask that you do not use soaps and detergents. The waste water ends up in the shore, and is used to water the vegetables. Thank you for your cooperation!
