SashaImagine you're surrounded with an enchanting forest on 3 sides, have a lake 200m away, beautiful starry nights and nature sounds round the clock. This little corner is a true European jungle perfect for various creatives & nature lovers to gain inspiration and relax, do yoga, meditate or gather their thoughts while doing work in travel.
Two artists and a gardener invite you to experience a life without mirrors in an eco-farm getting set up to become a meeting point for people dreaming of alternative sustainable lifestyles, willing to teach and learn about the natural ways, self-sufficiency and art.
Leave the outside world behind and get immersed into something different.
Here, we practice permaculture and organic vegetable growing for our self-sustenance. Creativity is in the air. Everywhere you look there's an expression of it. You too could try the homegrown veg and also participate in filling the space with art. There's physical activity to get involved in if you feel like exercise.
Take a dip in our local lake or bring a fishing rod if you are into it.
All that to the sounds of nature and maybe a visual of a deer on the other side of the fence. You won't have to go far to see the richness of local fauna, as there's miles of forests and fields to explore without seeing a soul. It's really a bird sanctuary - if you go to the right places you'll be able to see the golden oriole in its yellow glow or a roller bird with its electric blue shine.
You are welcome to spend evenings by the bonfire and borrow our guitars! Our fire pit has got a grill for outdoor cooking. You can also try our traditional pizza oven by yourself or make a request for pizza, if cooking it seems daunting. Sit, lie on the grass, do something creative - what ever feels good in the moment... Enjoy the place in various corners.
There is no curfew. You can stay up all night or sleep the whole day. You can have a party if you like (sometimes we might have them too).
When you've settled in, relaxed and feel eager to learn - take a gardening lesson from Alan, have a drawing class or get your portrait done with Sasha or take some DIY and decoration advice from Louis.
This little paradise is about 2.5h away from Budapest (motorway just 5km away); 2h of direct train journey from the station Kistelek (15km away) to Budapest.
If you feel like getting out of the forest for a day you can try out one of the famous Hungarian baths at Jonathermal in Kiskunmajsa (12km from us), which turns into a mini festival site in the summer complete with slides, food stalls and even its own personal lake.
If you start missing the city, Szeged is only 20-30 min away by car or 1h by bus from Csólyospálos. It's a pleasant student town full of cheap restaurants and cafes.
The nearest village is Csólyospálos (~2km) where you can find grocery & DIY shops, a local tourist attraction and a couple of village bars. Go to Kömpöc in 3km distance for a truly rural experience - they also got a bar and a grocery store along with a town square and a pond. Bicycles are available. There is plenty of space to park on the property.

Your host, Sasha

Hello! I'm Sasha, a painter from Lithuania living in the woods of Hungary, creating an eco paradise where people can share knowledge and take a break from the daily rush. I grow my own vegetables and try meeting new people interested in arts & sustainability so we can have events and workshops on the land relating to healthier ways of living in ecological, psychological and physical senses of the word.
